Never thought this would happen so early because my dad and I built this one but it did. My new computer’s power supply just got fried and it wasn’t even a year old so I hope there’s still a warranty on it. Although whenever or not everything is okay on there is still currently up for question. From what I could see, the motherboard looked okay but the power supply 100% smelled like burnt stuff and nothing was burnt at the motherboard connection (from I could see). Now the good news is I’ve got my garbage can computer. This is what some of the garbage can’s (I nicknamed it trashy) specs are:
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 System Manufacturer: Gateway (which is crappy by the way) BIOS: default (The mother board is about 7 or 8 years old now.) Processor: PIII 1Ghz (My new one has a PIV duo core processor so this speed is slow to me.) Memory: 256MB RAM Hard drive: 80 Gb (At least this one has more HD space but that’s because I was aiming to replace my new one’s 40Gb hard drive.)
What it can run: GaiaOnline (I highly doubt zOMG will work. Luckily fishing is back so I won’t be all THAT bored.) Whirled (Barely, I can’t play some of the games so I’ll have to save my coins to list items in bars.)* Wonderland Online (It gets a tiny bit of lag but it’s okay.) Deviant Art* Sheezy Art* Flash 8* Adobe Photoshop 5 (7 only works with my new unfortunately…) Flex *= Possibly may crash firefox or freeze up for a few seconds. (And that’s only some of the story of what Trashy can do.)
What does this mean?
Well if my motherboard died than all the stuff I was working on for whirled would be gone so I'll have a hard time redrawing and animating them all over again. A total nuisance if you ask me. I also have to go another route of trying to find a way to show examples of the items that I did my new computer because of the preview glitch. I can’t practice new painting techniques at the moment either.
