It's been a long while since I last wrote... understandably.
I think some of the guards, or perhaps solely Ungolad, tried to kill me several times after the occasion upon which I wrote. We were just two day's ride away when... Well, when we stopped to set up camp, I took Falada upstream and we both drank from the stream- I lost my gold cup, and perhaps the handkerchief there, though I mourn neither now. Then the camp split, and Talone and all of my faithful soldiers were massacred. I fled for my life, and with the help of a forest boy I came into the city, which they were guarding, and now have a job and a home, if a meager one at that. I've colored my eyebrows and hidden my hair, and I can speak with a tongue like unto theirs, so no one knows of my deceit. I pray Selia's men won't find me- for Selia has taken my place as Crown Princess. I earn a small sum with my new job, and I shall save it all and pay for food and bedding so I may ride back to Kildenree in secret. Falada must be alive, for Selia rode him into the palace, so first I will retrieve him, somehow.
I hope I can do this.
