Ashley's Journal :D
Once upon a time, in a land known as Kanian, there lived a jolly king and his beloved queen. They ruled the land together, keeping the kingdom happy and content. No one ever complained, and the land was full of smiles. As the king and queen grew in age, they continuely tried to produce a heir to the throne, so that when their time came there could be a new king or queen to keep the land of Kanian joyful.

As the years went by, there still was no success. The king and queen slowly began to give up hope, thinking all was lost. Suddenly on a dark and stormy day, a stranger appeared at their doors. They happily welcome the guest into their court, treating him to a joyous meal and the best of entertainment. The stranger said nothing through the whole ordeal, not until everything was over. He suddenly dropped his hood, showing his grim face, a face of anger and scars. The king and queen stared in astonishment, as the stranger suddenly held up a hand.

"My name is Balbazar, and I have a proposition for you two." He said, with an evil grin. "I know of your trouble producing a heir..." The king and queen looked at each other, curious as to how this man could possibly know this. The people in the courtroom chattered amongst themselves. "SILENCE!" Balbazar yelled out before continueing, "I can help you with this...problem...for a price." The grin now returned. "I will help... if you agree that if the child is not married by the age of 18, I will become ruler of this kingdom." The king and queen looked at each other, talking about this proposistion. Finally they turned back to Balbazar and the king spoke, "We agree. No child of ours shall be able to stay unmarried for that long! So of course we will take the deal." Balbazar's grin grew as he produced a contract in front of the king and queen, both of them eagerly signing it. Balbazar laughed wickedly and vanished in a cloud of smoke.

A month passed and the queen discovered she was pregnant. The whole kingdom rejoiced at the news.Several more months passed and the baby was born, it was a boy that they named Leon. As the years went by, the king and queen realized that the marriage of their son might be more challenging then they assumed. You see Leon wasn't like most people, he was born without compassion. No matter how hard the king and queen tried to teach him, he just couldn't show love to anything. Throughout his childhood he performed many deeds that people frowned down upon, weather it be laughing when someone was hurt or the killing of a poor innocent creature.

Years continued to pass, and everything the king and queens tried failed to teach Leon compassion. It was nearing his 18th birthday, and they were losing faith once more. Suddenly in their dreams they both recieved a message, the same message. They were told to send him on a journey, that if he were to pass the tests ahead of him he would return a changed man. As everything else ahd failed, they figured why not give it a chance. So with that they gave Leon a pack of supplies and sent him on his way, hoping he would return a changed man.

Leon looked back at the disappearing kingdom as he walked through the forest, not knowing what his parents expected of him. As he continued onwards the forest began to thicken, the sunlight growing less and less by the minute. Suddenly Leon noticed a clearing, where he saw a deer stuck in a bear trap. Leon began to point at the deer and laugh, as he normally would. When Leon went to pass the deer he suddenly heard a voice. "Please help me!" He heard, causing Leon to quickly turn around in confusion. "Who was that?" Questioned Leon. "Me! Please help!" Leon turned and realized it was the deer speaking. This caught Leon off guard. "Why should I help you? You're just a stupid deer." Leon said with a laugh. The Deer gawked at him. "A stupid deer? Would you want to hear that if you were in my posistion." Leon thought it over for a moment, "I suppose you are right." With that Leon bent over and released the deer from the trap. The deer thanked Leon before scampering off. Leon just nodded and continued on his journey.

Leon stepped out of the forest, coming upon a road. As he began to walk down this road he noticed a little girl up ahead. As he got closer to the girl he heard her screaming for her mother, with tears in her eyes. "MOMMY! MOMMY!" Yelled the little girl. Leon looked at the little girl, thinking of helping her before finally deciding to just walk past. To his sorrow though the little girl turned to him as he was walking by and began to tug on his shirt. "MISTER MISTER WILL YOU HELP ME FIND MY MOMMY?" The little girl cried out to him. Leon gave out a little scowl, but then signed. "Fine... where was the last place you saw her?" The little girl shook her head. "I...I don't know! I just woke up and I was out here!" Leon shook his head then held out his hand. "Come on then lets try and find her." He said. The girl took his hand and he began leading her down the road, hoping to come across a house or something.

Not far down the road the little girl tripped, scraping her knees. Her tears increased and she cried out in pain. "OWWWWWIEEEEEE! I CAN'T WALK ANYMORE! I'M GOING TO DIEEEEEEEE!" Screamed the little girl as blood came out of her small cuts. Leon growled but ripped off a part of his shirt and wrapped up her wounds. He lifted her in his arms and continued down the road, carrying her in his arms. Finally they came upon a house which must have been the girl's for she jumped from his arm and ran towards the house. "MOMMY!!!!" The girl yelled out as she rushed inside. She soon emerged with her mother who thanked Leon multiple times. Leon insisted it was no problem just as his stomach started to rumble. The mother heard this and offered him a meal. He happily accepted.

Leon thanked the family as he began his journey once again. As he journeyed down the road he suddenly came upon a little town. As he walked through the town he noticed someone trying to reach something but was to short to reach it. Leon approached the person and grabbed what they needed for them, handing it to them with a smile. For once in his life Leon had done something nice, without even being asked. When the person turned around, to Leon's surprise it was a women. It wasn't just a normal women though, it was the first women Leon had ever seen that had appeared beautiful to him. His heart began to beat suddenly, and he felt a feeling he had never felt before, love. He stood in silence as the women smiled at him and thanked him for the help. Leon couldn't manage to say anything and the women asked if he was all right. He quickly gathered himself and nodded quickly. "Yes yes I am fine. You are very welcome by the way." He said with a grin. She giggled at his awkwardness.

With that Leon became a changed man. He fell in love and showed compassion, two things he had never been able to experience before. A few months later he married the women, and became the rightful heir to the throne. Leon showed the love and compassion that his parents had for the kingdom and Balbazar's plan was foiled. With that the kingdom of Kanian lived happily ever after.
