The Rather Boring Life of a Man......his name is Mikuru//X
Well....I just didn't know what to type for a journal title so don't believe a book by its cover, ok. I might have some fun things to say and then I might have some depressing things to talk about.
Hiya hiya again everyone!

So with the way things are going, my site group activities have been dead for over 6+ years. Dealing with doujin games (IE: piracy) has been taken over by other groups on the internet and now my group has lost focus on what to be doing. Stepmania is pretty much dead except for that small audience that's out there. Aside from that, all we do is lurk in our IRC channel or play online games but not with each other. It's really stressful for me as founder of Anime Toshokan.

Some things are looking up though. As some may know, I'm currently one of the oldest staff members of the video game department at Anime Weekend Atlanta. Each year, I always bring my PC setups to show off the latest in doujin games or non-mainstream anime type fighting games or more. This year is special because of the fact that ZUN, the creator of the world popular TOUHOU series, is making his US debut at Anime Weekend Atlanta this year. Because of this, I'm expected to do something big and TOUHOU related. That's not all I have planned. I managed to get a representative from Nyu-Media, the leading distributor of translated doujin games in America, to attend the con as well. Not only that, I also have contact connections with the CEO of eigoMANGA, the company responsible with releasing the translated version of the hit doujin fighting game "Vanguard Princess".

Because of these factors, I got some heavy decisions and planning to make. If I decide to have conversations with these companies and actually do something legit, all the activities of Anime Toshokan have done or are doing now will have to cease and clean up to ensure no more copyright infringing is done by our group anymore and become a legit group that works behind these companies. Truth be told, the things these two companies are doing was the main goal for my group and was something I really wanted to do myself but didn't have the money or resources to do so. So trying to make connections with these groups would be beneficial to my group but also for myself as one of my dreams would be accomplished. To some, this should be a no-brainer and that I should jump on this chance to actually do something good for my group.

Honestly, I really like being able to do what I want which is why I haven't done anything with my group since. But I don't want to be contempt with being a shadow in the online doujin gaming community and would like to be one of those that shoot the genre forward with the help of these companies. Decisions are always not that easy but I guess this should be one of those easy decisions to make, right? What do you all think about this?

That's all for now I suppose. Talk to you all later. Leave a comment or something, ok?

Hiya everyone!

Boy, it's been about 8 years since I last posted something here. I kinda figured that I wouldn't have nothing much to say or keep up with this thing. Oh well, that's me in a nutshell. So what's been going on with me over these past few years, you might wonder? Well, a lot has happened....some good and some bad but that's life as unexpected turns come at you from every corner. So where to start?

Well first off, I guess I should explain why my name changed from Hideki-Motosuwa to Mikuru//X (or on Gaia, it's Mikuru-AtlasiaX). It started with me joining the online game "Rumble Fighter" back a few years ago on OGPlanet. I got to know some people and this one female player in particular. She wanted to create the SOS Brigade on the game and didn't have anyone to be Mikuru. With my name being similar, I decided to take up the role as Mikuru in our group. From that point on, it just stuck with me as she was my favorite character in the anime "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu". Since then, I've been known by my friends IRL and all around as Mikuru or Miku. But online, I decided that it was too common to call myself Mikuru as everyone would point me back to Mikuru Asahina. Because of this, I decided to call myself "Mikuru//X". It's a play on Mikuru's name and the .Hack series. As to how you pronounce this, it's Mikuru X or Mikuru Cross. Whichever one is fine as long as I know whom you're talking about. As for the Atlasia part in my name sometimes, if I had a last name, this would be it. Of course, this was taken from Sion Eltnam Atlasia from Melty Blood.

Moving right along, I still own my website "Anime Toshokan Inc." but now I have 3 new sites titled "Kokoro Toshokan Inc." and "A.G.E.S. Network". One is a manga reader site which has nothing but Genshiken on it and the other is supposed to be a parent site for official work I do on the web or IRL or something like that....I don't know. I haven't really figured what I would do with it as of yet so for now, it's a testing ground for me when I use WordPress.

As for my love life, yeah, still single and all. Nothing new in this department. Maybe it's because of the fact that I'm too damn shy to engage in trying to go into a relationship is what might be stopping me or it just may be that I love my independence and that I don't have to worry about being with anyone that I can do whatever the hell I want. Being single has it's perks but also has its downsides, ya know?

Outside of that, I don't work for Rheem Water Heater Manufacturing no more after being with them for 6 1/2 years. Stuff happened and life goes on. After a few months, I started working at a discount store called "Roses". It served its purpose as getting the state off my back in regards to my unemployment compensation and all but the bad parts about working there was the district manager. I've never met such a pompous a*****e in my life that so into himself that he can't even realize that when he talks to people, he talks to them like their a child....I mean even his own employees who are old enough to be his mom. During Christmas, he almost caught a shelf in the back of the head by me for threatening to send me home for trying to prove him wrong when he said I wasn't doing what he told me to do and yet he ended up doing the same exact thing I did.....what's up with that. Always complaining about the stock room being messy when it's his fault for ordering stuff every week and having the bare minimal amount of staff to get it out and expect it to be done every week. I couldn't take it no more so I waited for the stock room to get packed again and then quit on the spot but only after securing me another job which is my current job right now. I know work for a virtual golf shop where I get paid the same as I did at Roses but more relaxed with no one on my behind everyday and I'm never on edge because of it.

Aside from that, I'm currently a student of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division which I'm going for my bachelors in Web Design & Interactive Media. Hopefully, I'll be able to make the dream website I wish to have for myself. One last thing and I'll end this post here. I'm now currently a part of my state Fighting Game Community and now take playing fighting games a bit more seriously than I used to. My name here is GTS|MikuruX. GTS stands for GTSouth which is a gaming tavern whom I work closely with and I put this in my name only during tournaments. It's my way of advertising them as I'm one of their sponsored players and employees (I partially work there as well....come visit us if you're in the Montgomery, AL area). Honestly, it's rather fun participating in local and national tournaments but depressing as well when I know what my level is compared to other players around the nation or world. Gotta step up my game, I suppose. That's all for now, I got something else to post after this so till then, see you all next time.
