A Bit About Debbie
This journal will more or less mirror my LiveJournal journal. It's just me. And I talk a lot, so be forewarned.
I last posted in August? Wow. Okay, let's just say a LOT of real world stuff has been happening since then.

Quick synopsis:

Tommy and Robby transferred from homeschool to public school in September.
We moved to another town over Christmas break.
We joined a new church.
The kids transferred schools at the end of Christmas break.
We renovated a house.
We started to move into said house in March, only to experience major plumbing issues which made us move out again three days later.
I was arrested ... nope, no details on that for now.
We finally moved into our house last Saturday, and finally have internet again.

This past Friday, while driving the kids home from Fun Friday (open gym) at church, I saw what appeared to be a large, black dog in the middle of the road. Now, understand that where we moved is VERY rural, as in dirt roads, miles between driveways, etc. I slowed down to avoid hitting the animal, then realized it was not a large black dog, but a smallish black bear. I came to a stop, calling the boys' attention to the bear, and we watched her cross from our land to the other side of the road. Then, to everyone's delight, we watched her two adorable cubs follow her across and start climbing into the trees on the far side of the road. Naturally, being 5, Robby wanted to jump out and catch a cub for a pet. Equally naturally, this was the first time in over a month that I had left the house without my camera, so I missed the chance to photograph the bears.

Yesterday, as Lewis was wiring the lights on the front porch, he was smacked in the back of the head by a bat. Apparently, it was trying to get out of the porch, and he stepped in its way. Thye kids were freaked out at the thought of a bat, but I calmed them down by showing them that it hadn't got inside the house.

The new house is really terrific. It needed a lot of work to make it livable, but we're pretty well settled in it now. We're still sorting through stuff, as the house is smaller than where we were before, but thinning out our stuff a bit should prove beneficial.

I'll try to come post more soon.
