Him and my mom argue a lot. Over petty things. They both think they're right and neither will submit to being wrong. Ever. He gets angry over stupid things and takes them personally. She commands authority by her voice and doesn't know how to express compassion. To the other, these things are quite displeasing.

My mom hates to argue. Over the past few days, maybe a week or more, on the car rides to and from school... she'll talk about how she can't take it anymore. How she can't live with it. That she would... rather be alone than go through it.

But not only the arguing. His health issues are too much of a burden for her. When he has low blood sugar, he'll pass out and if it's not taken care of, he'll die. It's a struggle trying to get him to swallow the sugar solution because of him being unconcious. That's the main thing, I believe, that she doesn't want to deal with. I think it scares her. Not only that, she doesn't want to take care of him because she already has my grandma to take care of. She couldn't handle two people.

She says that if he ever needed to go to a nursing home, she wouldn't support it. She couldn't. She'd have to get a divorce. There's a reason for this, however. If she's married to him, the nursing home would take her investments for the payment to care for him. Which is, around 3k per month, I believe. Investments are about the only thing we've got.

I can understand her logic, but..

whatever happened to the "Through sickness and in health" part of the marriage?

Anyway, she says the love is gone... and so, he'll be gone soon too. Probably after winter clears up.

I guess it's her fault, getting married so quickly before getting to know him in real life. And just for reference, I believe she's 56 or 57 while he is 70. That's why he has so many health issues.

I know there were many points that I didn't like him... but I guess that I can't help but feel sad to see him go.
