I just wanted to make an entry dedicated to all the Pullips I own!! whee If you're bored then read on! xD If you're a fellow Pullip Lover, please comment and post pics of your Pullips too!!! heart
Yup, yup, my latest fad... they're originally Korean Dolls that a Japanese company bought out... they're called Pullips!! I didn't like them at first... because I thought they'd look like Blythe Dolls (which look like fetus skeletons)... and when Ramiro told me he thought some were nice, I said: "Ewww... but aren't they all bugged eyed and fetus looking?" Then Ramiro sent me pics of actual Pullips (which he probably regrets now... lol) and I realized they didn't look like Blythes and I really liked them! O_O;;
I did my research on which one I'd like as my first Pullip and started to save money to buy one. They go for approxiamately $100-$130 CDN when they're first released. Once a month a new Pullip comes out limited to 1000 pieces. Similar to Monthly Collectables on Gaia... once those 1000 dolls are released, they're never released again.
The first few dolls I really liked and couldn't decide upon were Nero, Mercu, and Paja. I couldn't decide which one I wanted, and in the year or so that I saved (yes, very very slowly...) I regretfully admit I would have been able to buy all 3 of them had I the money and will. I sort of finally decided to choose Paja as my first Pullip... she was really cute and I liked her outfit (Pajamas and a Dino suit xD) and her accessories were cute (Pillow, Pop-Up Book, and a tiny little mug of hot chocolate with her name on it). Every once in a while, I'd go visit the few shops in my city that sold Pullips and admire the Pullips they had... Paja, Nero, and Mercu included... but of course I never had the courage to buy one. = |
Then one day.... THEY WERE ALL GONE!!! gonk It seemed that during my hiatus of not checking up on the dolls, some people or someone bought all the ones I liked, and only the newly released dolls were left! That's when I kicked myself for not getting Paja and the others when I had the chance. And for being so wishy-washy for a whole year. But hey, you know how it is right?? When you want to buy something that you really like, but it's just so crazily expensive you almost can't let yourself succumb to greed and buy that outrageously expensive item. >_____<;; Well, that's what happened to me, and I regretted it later... I was sad... everytime we went to those stores I'd look at all the Pullips and tried to give up on seeing them there. lol. But then one day... behind the door of one of the shops, I saw a shiny box......... and it was MERCU!!!!!! whee I was like.... well Mercu is still here, even though I wanted to get Paja first... and yet again, I mulled over purchasing her (for other personal reasons as well ^^; )
A few weeks pass and I meet Ramiro after class for a late lunch before I had to go to work. While deciding what we should eat, Ramiro offers me some Starbucks Frappacino in his bag... I declined as I didn't feel like it. (I was sort of down during this time also because my dad had gone into the hospital and was in the intensive care unit, doing badly) He kept insisting saying that it'll make me feel better to have some sugar in me... so relunctantly I opened his bag to get the bottle. When I opened his overstuffed bag, I saw a stack of DVDs... a BIG stack. And this was during Ramiro's DVD craze, and I thought: oy... he went shopping again =__=; But then I saw something shiny with a purple flower print... and it literally took me a minute to figure out that it wasn't a deluxe DVD boxset on top of a stack of DVDs.... it was Mercu!!!! rofl
And thus, Ramiro gave me my first Pullip, Mercu as an early Christmas present. He was originally gonna wait and save it to give me at Xmas, but he said I seemed so down, he wanted to cheer me up... x3 THANK YOU!!!!! heart

I think at one point before I got Mercu, I was looking around for the Pullips I wanted, and wondered if the stores would help me order the one(s) I want from their connections. (Since I thought maybe I could still get Paja, or Nero, or some other Pullips I liked haha). This one shop downtown carried Pullips and when I asked if they could order one for me that they don't have in the store, the cashier gave me the email of the girl in charge of ordering Pullips. I had forgotten about it for a little while, and when I finally emailed her, I didn't get a reply back for over a month... so I pretty much gave up on the fact that she'd reply to me. (Then Ramiro got me Mercu and I was content and forgot about the email I sent xD).
A few weeks after I got Mercu though, I got an email back from the girl and she said she couldn't get me any of the Pullips I named... all except one: Nero. And that she was actually a doll on hold for herself, but she decided she had enough dolls and was willing to sell her to me if I wanted. And thus after mulling over it for a few days, I decided to get her.... I kicked myself for not getting her the first time before she disappeared, and if I didn't her now (which is like my "second chance" wink then I really have no one to blame but myself. So I took a leap and got her (and justified it as a Xmas present for myself... ninja )

Then Xmas rolled along and other than working almost non-stop, I managed to spend a little Xmas time with Ramiro. x3 I wasn't expecting a gift because I had already recieved Mercu as an early present, so it was just gonna be a lazy day of hanging out, watching movies, and relaxing (from all that work! Dx). We were deciding what to eat and Ramiro suggested we have soup (since it was a somewhat chilly day) and told me to check the cupboard to see what soups he had.... I already knew it was suspicious cause normally, Ramiro would just go and check the cupboard himself and tell me what types there were... he knows I'm lazy like that... lol. xD So basically I thought maybe he got me some chocolates or something as a little gift... when I opened the cupboard, I squealed and (according to Ramiro) jumped in suprise when I saw... Raphia!!! She's another Pullip that has a really fancy outfit and is really pretty as well!! I oogled at her too online lol.
So here is my third and most recent Pullip, Raphia! Her outfit is the most detailed and fancy of the three (with Mercu's in second because she has a lot of little accessories). Nero's is more simple, slick, and trendy.
So far, my collection consists of a space girl... a trendy girl... and a lolita girl. x3 I love them all a lot!! I don't plan to get anymore anytime soon, but if and when I do, I'll add them to this entry for all to see! x3 I also hope to dress them up in other 12" clothes I have and do more photoshoots with a proper digital camera... all the above were taken with my cellphone cam. x P Whee! heart
