Poet's comments:I made this poem when I was having dreams about xenomorphs alot, hope you like
POEM: When I was a little girl I wasn't afraid of the classics The boogeyman, bed monsters, vampires, mummies, take your picks Yes I thought I was on top of the game Then the folks watched aliens...fear finally called my name Little body shaking, heart rate rising, eyes on TV fixed And some late night pizza thrown into the mix ...The well detailed slimy body...the long sharp tail.... The razor second set of teeth...my skin grew pale... That night I stayed curled up the images of them fresh in mind Wondering how a person could live with himself to create such a kind 10 years later.....they have grown to be movies I adore The first one, the second, the third and fourth. my thoughts hoping for more But still...even as a big fan they haunt my dreams trapped and scared Never ready for them...never prepared... Who knew the creatures I've come to love and unafraid still stalk in my brain Night after night...the blood everywhere...the screams...its driving me insane I never knew I could love and fear something like this.... Will they forever lurk in the shadows of my subconscious? Its proof you can never hide from your childhood... Wether it was bad or good... Who knows if this cycle continues...to stop it...I have ceased to try.... Now I will always wonder if I will see that slim dripping face before I die....
