We got to the third exercise that consisted of two boards, and two platforms. The objective was to get from one platform to the other without losing a team mate. If we fell in, we'd start over. We devised a plan. 'The best way to get across is to Have someone heavy sitting on the boards while everyone else just walks over. We start out with someone bringing the boards across, then the smallest person can crawl across, and so on.' (it wasn't nearly this organized, but oh well) So everything went as planned. I went seconds after *****, my CAP buddy. Then after me came *****, my CAP crush, and so on. So things were going quickly along the paths of the boards. Then it happened. Just before the last person got across, the boards fell down, making the last person lose his balance. After two seconds of trying to regain his footing, he fell into the vat that is 'reset'. Our team did the same thing, only now we were screaming and panicking like anything. The minutes kept ticking by.... Two minutes... One minute... There were still three people to get across by the time of thirty seconds! I got onto the platform, balanced across but OH! The board moved! I tried frantically to keep my balance. One moment I was falling, the next I was able to keep balancing. Somehow I managed to get across without falling! There were only ten seconds left.. The next person got on.. 9.... 8.... 7... That person made it to the other side... The last person clambered onto the platform.. 5.... 4.... 3... And just when all hope was lost, just like in a corney movie, he managed to jump off just as the timer hit 0! We had won that leadership exercise! Now that all that excitement has been brought to you, I'll skip ahead to the boringness of eating, listening, and clapping. I.E. the banquet. Of course, after a little while, I got uber hyper from the coffee that I just managed to slip into my meal, so everything that'd seem boring to you was the most exciting thing in the world for me. Clapping, fidgetting, or even just staring at someone gave me all the pleasure I needed. Then once again, it happened. Sickness. The feeling that I get whenever I go out somewhere is the feeling of throwing up after eating alien food. Needless to say, I always lose weight whenever I go on CAP activities. No matter what they're for. After all the dreariness of finding out who the floogle of the year was over, we moved on to the dance. Everything was fun in that too. I freestyled, slow danced, and all around did all the weird dances imaginable. I also made a new friend who I talked to the whole night. My new friend from Encampment seemed to of either been overly protective, or jealous that I was spending time with him, but I didn't care much... =/ There you have it! The whole experience of going to Wing Conf in a nutshell. The most fun was near the end, but it was overall a good experience that I'd lovelovelove doing again. Next year to be precise. ^^
