Oops, they did it again. I don't mind Gaia stealing my ideas, but they could give a me a little credit for 'em.
At the beginning of last year, I posted in the Item Suggestion Thread in the Questions and Feedback Forum: "There should be more gift boxes. But instead of them all containing rare items, some should just blow up in your face, a la Jokey Smurf."
People laughed at my suggestion, and then it was forgotten. Or so I thought. Then on April 1st, everyone on Gaia was treated to their very own blue box, which blew up in their faces when they tried to open it. Coincidence? Possibly.
Then, at the beginning of December, I started getting in the holiday spirit and commented on how I was going to hang mistletoe up at the top of my thread so I could kiss all the lovely ladies who post there. I thought it was a fun idea, but most of the gals were glaring at me and saying "Marc better shut up about the damn mistletoe already."
So what happened just a few short weeks later? A Gaia-wide event, with mistletoe at the top of the threads so everyone could kiss. Coincidence? Again? Maybe.
This turned out to be a very rewarding feature, and even some of the more cynical girls treated me to numerous make-out sessions. It was a hit all across Gaia, and of course the admins took credit for it. Okay, so maybe it's just a "great minds think alike" kind of thing. But then, notice how they named the event "Mistletoe Madness!" Yet another coincidence? Hmmm.
The question remains: are the bigshots of Gaia following me around and lurking in my thread so they can steal my best ideas? I don't really mind. I love Gaia and I'm happy to contribute to making it a fun place. But still, credit where credit is due, please. That's right, I should be named the official Pioneer Of Kooky Events.
So, if you want to know what the next big thing is going to be on Gaia, come post in teh Madness and listen to some of Marc's crazy ideas...
