Ch. 1 Etalosed

Stories often end with a happy ending, fairy tales, myths, or even make believe. But there is a story that does not end with a marriage or happy folks singing of salvation, and that ones mines. I am Kyo, Kyosuke Yatsura and this is my story…

It all traces back to the day of my seventh birthday.

“Happy Birthday Kyosuke!” -Those are my parents. Yuri and Disuke Yatsura.
“Oh WOW Thanks mom and dad!”

I was so happy that day; everything went fine until “it” came. “It” was called Etalosed. Etalosed… that name struck fear in everyone's souls. For it was a creature unimaginably horrible and indescribable. The house shook.

“What was that?!” my father shouted
“Ah! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!” screamed my terrified mother
“Yuri! Take Kyo and run!”
“But…what about…”
“No! Just take him and run!”

Etalosed came floating over our little village. I don't quite remember how large it was but it was much larger than a whale. Funny thing is, it was a creature that anyone on this planet has seen. It had the looks of a whale, but it had wings and bumps all over its body, by god it was the most hellish thing I have ever seen. Well, now my mother and I were running to a boat that would take us to a separate area, but my mother was too late. The boats were filled already, and practically there were no spaces available only a space for a small child. So my mother stuck me in that spot and whispered in my ear,

“See with your heart my child. I will always love you.”
“What?! Mama! Mama! Where are you going? Aren't you and dad coming with me?”

I didn't know at that moment that she was lying.

“I promise baby, I'll come on the next boat with your father and we'll go out for dinner, ok?”
“Promise Mommy?”
“It's a pinky promise” She gave me a wink and hugged me.

The boat rowed off and I was safe. I looked forward to a new land and turned to look at the new land we were going to arrive at. When I turned back, to my unmitigated horror, Etalosed flapped its enormous and hideous wings and a blinding light blinded us all. The moment we could see again all we saw was water. The Island was gone. Everyone including my parents that were on the island was gone. I felt hot tears pouring from my eyes. I was crying my eyes out. Helplessly pleading to go back and find my parents.

“Mommy! Daddy! NOOOOO!! Please! Let me go! I wanna go back! Please! I need to go back! My mother and father are back there!”

I pleaded and pleaded the man, but he refused. He told me he couldn't do it and I knew he couldn't. I cried away all my sorrow, from that moment all I could remember is myself lying on the shoulder of an old woman, crying myself to sleep.
