Note: Ok so I'm not usualy a Spuffy fan. Actualy I'm never a Spuffy fan but this story dose have a hint of it just becasue it's cannon and the story (which really isn't even a story) was more of a character peice than anything else.
Note 2: This story came from sheer bordom. I was stting in my living room with a pen and my note book with nothing to do and no idea of what to write so my friend told me that whatever I wrote should start with "I'm O positive." and this thing came to mind. Enjoy.
“I’m O positive.” And Spike isn’t sure why Andrew’s even talking to him let alone giving up his blood type but he spares him a sideways glance and answers anyway.
“Prefer a bit of AB neg myself.” And that’s not true because Spike’s never been picky when it comes to blood type, they all taste the same. It’s the way you hunt it, the way you kill it, that makes it good. “Sorry mate, just not my type.” He doesn’t know why he’s even talking to the kid. Spike’s just barely able to tolerate him at most times and the rest of the time he can’t even understand him. Right now is one of the times where Spike can’t separate the English from the Geek and he’s pretty sure some of what’s leaving Andrew’s mouth might be Klingon but for all he knows it could have been ancient Sumarien. He’s told Andrew to shut up a few too many times already but he hasn’t kicked him out of his sparsely furnished apartment complete with X Box yet, and no matter how many threats he makes to the contrary he won’t. He won’t because he can’t bring himself to get rid of a familiar face. Even if it is Andrew.
Or at least that’s why he’s here right now. He’s here because Spike didn’t say no when Andrew asked, which is as close to Spike offering as Andrew was ever going to get. Spike didn’t say no because Andrew is familiar, Andrew is from Sunnydale and he knows. That and he practically worships the ground Spike walks on which is a nice change. Spike can’t say he likes Andrew’s constant attention or incessant chatter but he can say that after spending so long with Angel and his pals he wouldn’t turn it down.
Because Angel looks at him like he hasn’t changed a bit, soul or no and Angel’s friends look at him like he’s just some monster. They look at him like Xander did, and hey that’s familiar too but not in a good way. Andrew tells him it’s because they’re not reformed bad guys like them and that he understands but Spike thinks it’s because they know Angel. Fred isn’t so bad and Spike knows that it’s because she’s smart unlike the rest of them. The look up at Angel like some super hero but they look at him like just another vamp. If anyone should be put on a pedestal Spike thinks it should be him because he chose his soul, and that that means something doesn’t it? And because he saved the world and sure as hell didn’t go to heaven for it. Sure Angel went to a hell dimension to save the world but once again that wasn’t his choice, he just got that thrown at him and Spike’s sure he bitched and brooded about that too.
No, Andrew sees him as a hero, which Spike isn’t sure if he really is but if Angel qualifies than Spike may as well be a Super Hero, because Spike chose this and he doesn’t waist all his time dwelling on the past. Then again maybe he dose because that is the reason Andrew is still here. Andrew is here because he’s been there. Because he’s talked to her and he fights along side her. And while Spike uses the term ‘Fight’ loosely Andrew’s still been there, and he’s going to go back there. Andrew’s been doing what Spike only wishes he could do because as far as Buffy is concerned Spike is dead, or rather dust because he’s always been dead, and there’s no way Spike can change that. He can’t let Andrew tell her he’s back because then Buffy would start to dwell in the past too and she’d be no better than he and Angel and Spike won’t do that. She doesn’t love him and Spike knows that but he still loves her and she’s moved on so he needs too as well but that doesn’t stop him from letting Andrew retell a tail of they’re latest monster hunt in which Andrew’s role is exaggerated, Spikes certain. Spike doesn’t complain, he just points out that Andrew couldn’t even lift a troll hammer, let alone knock out a Quant’ock with one just as he beats the kid for the fifth time. For being such a Geek he certainly sucks at video games.
“Crash Bandicoot isn’t even a good video game!” Andrew cries indignantly “There’s no strategy.”
“Strategy is to not get your a** kicked and make it to the finish line.” Spike replies simply as they start another game. They’ve been playing for hours already but Andrew isn’t complaining (except when he losses) and Spike isn’t ready to let go of the past just yet.
