Thought I would keep the heading simple this time...Though, I wouldn't get used to that for too long if I were you.
Hm...So, what should I write about today?
Let's see...Considering its 1:15 in the morning, two days after Christams...Let's discuss the holidays, shall we?
Oh, do excuse the constant questioning...I have a tendency to talk to myself. But, onto the topic at hand...
I've been told, numerous times over the last few days that 'Holidays are for the kids'. Well, if this is true, then why am I participating? I'm technically no longer a 'child' in the eyes of the Government. Though, I was never one to agree openly with politics on a regular basis.
But, when all considered, isn't everyone someone's child? Though, this question may be getting to philosophical...In the terms of Creation vs. Evolution.
True none the less is this statement. Then wouldn't it be understandable when an individual reaches a certain age, they should then no longer be concerned with gift giving or for that matter the spirit of the holiday.
Like most holidays nowadays...They are simple creations of Card Companies looking to make large sums of money in between people's birthdays, which seem to be the only true holiday anymore.
I've lost the thrill of Christmas...True, I'll admit, I do get excited the first week of December. I assume it is all from the anticipation everyone seems to have about upcoming events and gatherings. However, this is before all the comotion, extra work and involvement with nasty and upset people comes into play. Also, I don't think anyone is ever really sure if what they get for someone else is going to be something they either like, need or outright despise.
So, why bother? Ask anyone...Or at least anyone with some shred of dignity...What they want for the holidays, and they will tell you, 'Oh, nothing'.
*Smirks* Which we all know is a big lie. Everyone is always going to want something...They may not need it...But, they will always want.
So, what is it, praytell, that we are doing to benefit anyone other then ourselves during the holidays?
It's possible that the reason why I am debating this claim is that I beleive holidays have lost all the meanings and traditions they originally had behind them to the greed of people.
Such, things shouldn't be about what I can give someone else and what they can give me...But, the time in which we spend with each other, which doesn't cost a thing and what is the true benefit to all of us.
Well, now that I have read over my claims that seem to have no fluid to them at all...I have decided to end my lovely little 'First Post' and call it a night for writing...At least in this.
10-4 from car 106. Over and out.
