Welcome to my art diary! Here, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look into all the art I make for others here on Gaia. Join alongside my figures, The Magical Gaian Crew and me in my creative process, as well as any other fun or notable events occurring during my day!
Updates will be vary, depending on my workload and activity, but I will try to update every Saturday with at least one Gaia artpiece!.
I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog as much as I love to write in it and share my adventures with you!
⚘. ENTRY 2: Back In Business!
Okay so it's 5:44am right now as I'm typing this. Most likely by the time I'm done with this blog post, the sun will be rising up because these take a few hours to write! Hey, helps with the intrusive thoughts because Gaia is fun, at least!
Anyway, back in the game! WHOOHOO!! It feels great writing these entries again. I have several pieces of art to write about, so I'll probably be updating a few times a week, provided that I can. I'll be covering two to three at a time, depending on how much energy I have to write.
Anyway, without any further ado, let's get right into it!!
PART 1: androgcyborgasm Headshot, shaded sketch.
I love their name LOL So flipping through my Gaia art diary, I stumbled upon andro's sample drafted out before me, so I thought, why not start with this one? It looked really fun to do!
As you'll see with the next few entries, I'll keep forgetting to take a photo of the draft untouched! xD Since this was a shaded sketch, it wouldn't take long to complete it. I start by sketching in the more defined lines into the avatar.
Upon inspecting the reference photo more closely, I realize the sleeves were more narrow than I initially sketched out, even looking a bit attached together by the string. I'm glad I went with that because it came out looking better! I was really enjoying the process at this point and was having a wonderful time working on this!
Forgot to take a photo of when I started shading, so I was pretty well into it at this point. I had to remind myself that shaded sketches aren't as refined as my graphites are, but I still wanted the sample to be presented in a neat fashion, while still looking sketchy!
While these aren't colored sketches, one of the new techniques I picked up was adding a splash of color to a sketch to make it stand out more. It didn't hurt to add at least one bit of color to really tidy up the sample together! So I did. Just a few more finishing touches, and-
ILLUSTRATION COMPLETE!
FINAL THOUGHTS: This was a very lovely avatar to work on. To be honest with you, I wish this was a colored type so I could color in that lovely shade of green and have fun blending it all together! I'm glad I picked this sample in particular as my way of getting back into the swing of things!!
PART 2: Benevolent Rose (Question) Headshot, Shaded Sketch. artwork by Benevolent
Time for an original character this time!! I believe this is the first non-avatar sample I've featured on my journal. I was pretty eager to begin work on this sample!
Don't know why I didn't take a close-up photo instead, but this -- actually is one where I didn't make any finalized lines yet! Ha ha ha! The other sample shown here will be featured in the next journal entry.
I --- forgot to take photos as I was going along, so this was the only work in progress shot I took before completing it. OTL I had a hard time starting, but I finally got myself going after a bit. Shading Question was pleasing to do! I wish I had more photos of the work process, and I don't, soooooooo ...
ILLUSTRATION COMPLETE!
FINAL THOUGHTS: First off, Question is a really cool character name! Second, I really enjoyed working on her. Her hairstyle was my favorite part of the process, and it was fun overall! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work on her, Benevolent!
After sleeping for a bit and an event this morning, it's now 11:43am. Sadly I don't have any photos to share since there hasn't been anything as of late besides college and art. Hopefully that changes here soon!
Either way, I hope you all had fun reading this (even though it's not so lively like my first one was)!
