Fæ Empress Maia has ended her people's civil war, Battle of Flowers, with her ascension and my own.
She discussed the consequences with me, as we have valued each-other's counsel before either of us attained our current positions of influence and power: her people have retracted their wark contracts with our kind until our kind's Judgement Day; any interaction from here-on-out will become imperceptible for the safety and stability of her own kind. They plan to minimise their presence in sunlight until those last seven years, withdrawing underground only to surface at night. I will sorely miss the common sight of the fæ...
She gives grave counsel to focus on our poor, suggesting my Empire also demand fewer taxes and less labour, so us Kāné will be more capable of looking after ourselves now that the fæ will excuse themselves from our homes and sight. I hope she will continue her own communications with myself, for I need her friendship now more than ever. I will ask her to make an exception for those with royal blood, next time we meet.
May we always hold a great respect for those who sacrificed much for our comfort.
