It's easy to be depressed about anything but It's very hard to be uplifting when your hiding all of your feelings especially your own feelings from yourself. Your feelings are important to you because it tells you how to feel. Breakups, anger, lost, missing, and etc. So feel it and understand why. When you give yourself the chance to feel every painful and amazing feelings, your brain and your heart grow to a mutual strengthening understanding with who you are and what you are to you. In other words let your mind, body, and soul be one.
When I finally admit or understand that flaws are everywhere I was able to let go of the hatred for my mother who didn't deserve my forgiveness or my father for abandonment. It felt like I leveled up. Like I conquered my flaws and used them as the key to my own operation. I understood someone else. I understood how to move on. I understood how forgive. I didn't forget because the lessons are very important because I did go through them. I had to realize I had to adjust myself for myself to myself.
Just embrace yourself and be your uplifting. Don't be somebody else's uplifting. Be yours first. That is mine and and many other's problem that can eat up a lot of time before realizing. It takes time and patience. I don't have a lot of patience but over time I didn't think of much as while being patience till after I found my own calmness.
I've tried to get a friend to understand that but she tells me she felt guilty for doing that. She thinks putting herself first before her lover was being greedy. I did told her if you don't put you first for you like they should for them for themselves than there is no you. Same applied to them; or there is no them basically.
You should not feel like your obligated for every action of anything just because someone in your love life think it's okay for them to bash on you. It's not healthy for a brain. Brain tends to hit that adrena like anxieties and the chemicals in your brains starts to flow which is not good. So being happy is absolutely healthy. So don't be just happy for someone else's sake. Sometimes I forget to do so but I'm a natural happy person even when I'm sad. I'm only sad for a little while than I'm back to my old happy self because I don't like negative frequency. It attracts other bad energy. So, "Be happy for your sake."
Everyone has that given right to feel that. Happiness don't come from things it comes from the frequency from within. That's you.
