The hammerhead swordsalmon is a unique breed of fish that is part hammerhead shark, part swordfish, and part ordinary salmon (one-third each). They are depicted with unusual, distinctive structures of their heads completely flattened and laterally extended into the shape of a hammer itself. Like swordfish, they also have a sharp sword-like bills. They sometimes have teeth and very few scales, though they often lose all of their scales and most of their teeth by adulthood---eating them must be proceeded with caution as their flesh will still contain traces of very high amounts of mercury even when their scales fall off. They are often found in salt water currents as well as fresh water areas, though it is said that while they can survive in salt water, their scales can slightly weaken at the exposure to salt itself.
These aquatic creatures will automatically attack all humans on sight, so it is practically unsafe if a diver is still in a cage to prevent unwanted shark attacks; their snouts are at least a few inches longer than a swordfish's and are three times sharper, making it highly dangerous as they can impale the humans swiftly. At least an average of 30-40 deep sea divers are impaled to death every year by these fishes. Because of this, scientists have tried to develop much better cages so that their sword-like bills won't go through even the smallest, narrowest of openings. The bills are in fact the only part of the hammerhead swordsalmon that is otherwise inedible, but people can use it to craft them into fencing swords.
A hammerhead swordsalmon has a sight range of 50 miles. Its sense of smell can be reached with 40-47 miles away while its hearing is limited to 60 khz. This would explain why they will investigate and possible attack the area of other humans or creatures as they are not a force to be reckoned with. If one is instantly killed by a harpoon for example, they will go extremely berserk and won't stop until the other group has been killed off. Fishermen have been hunting them for many generations as they are often a food source, so they're not reaching extinction anytime soon.

Don't say a word while we dance with the devil
You brought a fire to a world so calm
We're out of time, on the highway to never
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on!
