Whenever people think about dog mouth disorders, they most likely think of gingivitis or just a bad case of doggy breath. However, there are several problems that can occur in your dog's mouth that you should be aware of.

How does otitis media occur? The middle ear, which is the space behind the eardrum, is normally filled with air. A tube normally connects the middle ear to the throat. This tube is called auditory tube or the Eustachian tube (Eustachian was a chap who discovered the tube hundreds of years ago). The function of the tube is to normalize or equalize the pressure between the middle ear and the atmosphere. When blocked, pressure in the middle ear decreases, causing mucus (or fluid) to fill up the space. The mucus may then become contaminated by bacteria and viruses, thus allowing infection to occur.

I took Diflucan for the yeast infection in my milk ducts. It was a very painful infection and within 24 hours of the Diflucan the pain was gone. I had to stay on it for five weeks to keep it gone. I was just wondering if it would make me feel terrible. I don't have a serious chronic candida condition, but had gotten thrush and some intestinal overgrowth from an overexposure to mold in the last 6 months.

The upper ear piercings consist of the Industrial, Helix, and Rook. The Industrial is done by piercing two holes in any part of the upper ear, preferable across the ear from each other, and then running a long barbell from one hole to the other. The Helix piercing is done in the part of the ear that curls around along the top edges of the ear. A variation of this piercing is called the Helix Orbital, which is done with a hoop going through two side by side holes in the Helix instead of hole than run front to back. The Rook piercing is done to the cartilage that is right above the ear canal.

Some breeds have excess hair in their ears; this can also cause many problems. If your dog has excess hair this hair must be routinely removed or your dog may suffer from chronic cause of ear infection in adults. It is not acceptable just to cut the hair, as the hair will grow back. You must pluck the hair that grows inside your dog's ears. Be sure to apply dog powder to the inside of both ears and make sure the hair is completely covered especially at the base. Once the powder has dried, you may begin to pluck a few hairs. You can use your fingers or tweezers, but just pluck a few hairs at a time and it will not hurt your dog as much.

If possible, avoid all extremely loud, sudden sounds, like a large steel girder dropping to the floor. Sounds like this more usually occur at work, so always wear types of ear infections muffs or ear plugs.

Sometimes people think a boy has ADHD, simply because he's normally more active than a girl the same age. Boys need more physical activity. It's harder for them to sit still for long periods of time. They tend to mature a little later than girls do, especially in the areas of speech and fine motor skills.

Well moms you will like this: every couple of hours, a break from constant noise, such as a colicky baby, or the loud concert. A few minutes of silence can help the inflammation go down. So pass that baby to dad, your ears really do need a break. Another idea is to use earplugs around gunfire and maybe even while mowing the lawn. Yes these levels of noise are dangerous to your hearing. Regular visits with your local hearing center along with keeping the volume down can be an ounce of prevention. If you do suffer from hearing loss your hearing center can guide you toward your next step.
