What if the whole Santa Clause coming down the chimney thing was really inspired by someone’s wizarding buddy who decided to Floo in while they had muggle company over?

That would also explain the bright a** red outfit with floppy hat, because we’ve seen how fail wizarding folk can be at muggle-ing. They probably found some gaudy pjs with a matching hat, thought they nailed it and went over to their friend/relative/neighbour/some guy who bought a house after a witch and they forgot to disconnect the Floo with a party gift for the Season

“Whoops wrong house, Happy Holidays! Have this.”

Wait more to this thought now. What if the milk and cookies were actually a thing to greet your guests with as they came in through the Floo for the Holidays? That or the neighbour got so many accidental visitors, they started leaving them out with a note saying “have some, go next door”
