Battle of the Storm
Central Pacific 1943
Small detachment of Sinku's fleet consisting of Fury, Atlantia, Pisces, Draco,and Leo are returning home from Pearl Harbor but on the horizon a massive storm looms darkening the sky to a sickly green color along with being heavy overcast keeping Fury's planes from being able to fly.
Bridge of the Fury
Sinku was pacing back and forth with his tails twitching due to aggravation that he had no idea what to expect from the storm and couldn't put his normal scouts up in the air thanks to the already bad flying weather.
" Make sure all loose material is locked down in on the hangar deck. last thing we need is a bomb, torpedo, or plane sliding around down there and causing trouble. I really don't like sailing into this thing without knowing how big it is or if there are any enemy ships around but it doesn't look like we have a choice. Seal all hatches and be ready to seal off any compartments that start to flood. This looks like it will be a nasty one." Sinku's main worry was for his destroyers being swamped and capsized. He didn't think he would run into any enemy ships out this far from their home bases but it was an ever present threat he had to contend with since that last intelligence report had stated that the Japanese navy had orders to hunt his fleet down at any cost. A battle in this storm could be disastrous since the wave action would leave more hull exposed than usual.
