The Wall Street Journal is a standard-bearer in the business world and America's largest newspaper by total circulation. In order to become a news anchor, you mandatorily need to be adept in communication skills; both verbal and written. The reputation and goodwill of a TV news presenter matters a lot as far as the salary is concerned. But sadly, as a result of a new Spanish law , we'll shortly have to close Google News in Spain.

The broadcasting company or the TV channel has a substantial impact on the salary range of a download anchor. For example, Fox News Network offers a pay range from $50,000 to $125,000 yearly, which again may vary as per the conditions. Networks like Univision and CBS News have a per-year salary scale of about $60,500 to $115,000, and $65,500 to $140,000 respectively. An increase in the overall experience of one to four years makes the news anchor eligible for an earning around $25,000 to $55,000 per year.

This new legislation requires every Spanish publication to charge services like Google News for showing even the smallest snippet from their publications, whether they want to or not. As Google News itself makes no money (we do not show any advertising on the site) this new approach is simply not sustainable. So it's with real sadness that on 16 December (before the new law comes into effect in January) we'll remove Spanish publishers from Google News, and close Google News in Spain. Google News might not profit directly, but other services do, enormously, profiting from other people's work.
