I think he likes you (Ticci x Rain) - Chapter 05
Kaun started to feel a throbbing pain in his head as he started to feel drowsy, causing him to absently grip onto Toby’s sleeves. Toby broke the kiss feeling Kaun’s grip on the fabric of his own sleeves, which appeared to be shaking. “Hey.. wha, what’s wrong?” Toby managed “Toby?.....why do I feel sleepy all of a sudden?” he asked as Toby’s eyes widened slightly. “Kaun what’re you t, talking about?” Toby asked worriedly. “I…. I think I hit my head on the stairs, I, it’s okay, I just need to sleep it off I guess” Kaun told him, as his grip slipped, to which he fell back against the floor, and his then eyes fluttered closed. “N, no, listen to me, d, don’t fall asleep, that’s a very b, bad idea…Kaun? …Kaun?!” Toby spoke worriedly, as suddenly he realized that Kaun’s eyes were closed. The image of Kaun lying on the ground almost like that of a freshly killed corpse, caused flashes of Toby’s sister after the car accident, to replay in his head in flashes, as tears started to sting at the corners of his eyes. “Kaun? C’mon, y, you can’t sleep right now, listen to me please, you n, need to stay awake now o, okay?” Toby pleaded, as his lightly swatted the side of the boy’s face. His chocolate eyes searched the pale boy’s face desperately. Toby felt a sense of panic starting to form within him, as he shakily gripped the other teen’s shoulders, to which he lightly shook the other boy. “Kaun l, listen to me, you c, can’t fall asleep, c, c’mon, w, wake up… please” Toby spoke pleadingly as he tried to wake the boy. A soft moan escaped Kaun’s lips but alas, his eyes didn’t open.
Toby’s hands trembled as he remembered how he had lost his sister; whom he felt was one of the only people who had ever truly cared about him, and now, he was terrified of losing someone else, for whom he cared dearly for. He brought the other boy into his arms, as he then proceeded to bury his face into his shoulder, as Toby wept helplessly into the other boy’s shirt. Masky and Hoody were wandering through the forest, wondering where Toby had run off to, as they then noticed Kaun’s house. Laughing Jack had told them that there was a chance Toby may have gone to visit him, though he didn’t indulge them as to why. Nor did the two proxies really pry all that much, as they managed to wander over to the door, which even they knew; that Kauner Greyson or ‘Kaun of Rain’ was not one to leave his door unlocked. As yet to their surprise, it was actually fully unlocked. Subconsciously, this set off alarm bells for the two adolescents, as they made their way into the house carefully. The two of them searched the house, before Hoody stopped suddenly, upon hearing the sounds of someone sobbing. He gestured to Masky to come join him, as the masked boy joined his friend. Masky could now hear the sobbing as well, as he then reached for the door knob and turned it. He was about to head down, yet he stopped upon seeing that Ticci Toby was the one crying, and Kaun of Rain looked like he was practically unconscious.
“Wait here” Masky urged in a soft concerned tone to his friend Hoody, who nodded in response. Masky then made his way down to where Toby was, to which the masked lad placed a hand onto Toby’s shoulder. “Toby, what, what happened?” Masky asked him. Toby looked at him through tears “h, he fell and hit his head and p, passed out, it was an accident, p, please, you gotta h, help me” Toby barely spoke. Masky could see the agony in the mischief maker’s face; he’d never seen Toby this upset before, as he looked up towards their friend Hoody. “Hoody, call Dr. Whitmore, tell him to go to the house on Weeping Willow Drive, and tell him it’s an emergency” Masky instructed. The other boy nodded and rushed off to search for a phone, hoping to get a hold of the ‘good doctor’. Toby’s mind went blank for a moment, if that annoying drunken boy hadn’t of told Toby that no one would ever find him attractive, Kaun wouldn’t be in danger of slipping into a coma right now. This thought angered him soo much, that he grabbed his hatchet and began walking towards the stairs. Masky saw it and looked at him “where are you going?” The masked boy began “I need to heh heh t, take of some, th, thing, d, don’t wait up” he spoke in an almost cryptic tone. He was trying to bottle up his emotions, though Masky could clearly see, that something was very wrong.
“Toby just stop” Masky protested suddenly, causing Toby to stop dead in his tracks, his grip on the hatchet’s handle trembling. In fact, his whole body was shaking, as his twitched uncomfortably. He wanted soo badly to track that drunken b*****d down, and slam the hatchet’s sharp blades into his face, over and over again until the p***k was dead. After all, in Toby’s mind, he never would’ve gotten the idea to surprise Kaun which caused this, if he hadn’t found out that the boy liked him as possibly more than a friend. He probably would never have asked, if that ignorant little s**t hadn’t told him, that no one would ever want him like that. Dammit, it was his fault that Kaun of Rain was now hurt. He could hardly even face his fellow proxies, due to the shame in which he felt. Hoody came back in and looked at them “um guys? We have a problem, I can’t reach Mr. Whitmore; apparently none of the phones in the house, seem to work for some reason” the masked boy spoke. Masky checked Kaun’s pulse and glared at Toby “look, whatever you’re thinking… don’t okay? Kaun, he, he needs you right now, he’s you friend isn’t he? Or do you not care what happens to him?” Masky spoke sternly for a change. Toby’s eyes widened behind the tinted shades, before he whirled around, ripping his sleeve free of the Masky’s grip, gripping the hatchet’s tighter. “Of course I care, why else do you think I was gonna hunt down the ******** that caused this to happen, and make him pay?!” Toby snapped. Unexpectantly however, Masky shocked himself, Toby, and Hoody; when his own hand made a swift motion, across the brunette axe murderer’s face, giving off an audible slapping sound. Toby blinked and touched the slap mark blinking “y, you slapped me? Wha, what the hell Masky?!” Toby protested. “For once would it Kill you to think of someone Other than yourself?!” Masky snapped abruptly in response, causing Toby to stop completely. The slap to the face was nothing to him as he was immune to the feeling of pain, at least on a physical level, but what was said afterwards, made him feel a twinge of pain.
He looked towards Kaun of Rain, as his brows creased together horrified. Toby suddenly dropped his hatchets and walked over to the injured teen, kneeling down as he brushed a few dark strands of hair out of the injured boy’s face. “Wha, what do I do?” Toby inquired, his voice sounding a twinge broken. Masky took a moment to think it over before looking towards the disheveled brunette “I’ve got an idea, why don’t you stay with Kaun, while Hoody and I try to go find help” Masky told the other brunette. The other two proxies saw Toby manage a feint okay, before Masky and Hoody took off to go find help. Toby heard them leave, before carefully taking the raven haired teen into his arms, before lifting him up off the floor. He felt bad watching Kaiun lie there on the cold hard ground like that, it reminded him too much of the car accident that killed his sister. He carried the boy to the young man’s room and over to the bed, somehow managing to carefully set him down, before he then tucked him in. Making sure Kaun seemed to be comfortable, he straightened up and proceeded to pull over a chair before sitting down. As he sat down, he noticed something sticking out under Kaun’s pillow, near where he would normally be facing, if he were sleeping and not unconscious. Curious to find out what it was, Toby very carefully reached under the pillow, and gently eased it out into view, to which he soon blinked in shock, was he seeing things? He examined the small plushie doll in his hands, realizing it was a plushie made to look like……well like himself. Toby was shocked at the effort and detail of it, as he stared at his mini replica.
He figured maybe Kaun made ones of all his friends, perhaps to feel a little less alone, when they weren’t around. After all, it was the kind of thing the boy would do, considering he recognized the stitching pattern to be Kaun of Rain’s. He mainly figured Kaun must’ve made him himself, since Toby recognized the stitching pattern had seemed to be the same, as the human made marionette styled dolls, which Toby had seen in the blue room in the basement of Kaun’s House. Toby sat in the chair twitching occasionally from distress. He wanted soo badly for Kaun to be okay; the boy was always soo nice to him, though the waiting was nearly excruciating, or at least it felt that way to him. “Kaun…. I, I’m soo s, sorry, I didn’t m, mean to hurt you” Ticci Toby confessed. After some time of waiting, he began to feel tired, but he didn’t want to leave Kaun by himself. So he cradled one of the boy’s gloved hands into his own bandaged ones, before laying his head down and allowed himself to fall asleep. It took a little while, but suddenly there was a feint twitch of a closed eyelid, before it slid open as the crystal turquoise orb tried to focus. Kaun’s head hurt, but not as much as it was before. He would’ve sat up and try to collect his thoughts, but he felt a weight on part of the bed. Kaun instead shifted his head to look towards the source of it, to which he blinked in shock, upon seeing that unmistakable, fluffy, messy brown hair, under a bluish gray hood, and the bandaged hands, that were holding onto his own.
‘Toby?! What the hell happened? This isn’t like him’ Kauner Greyson thought, as he wasn’t sure what to do. He shifted his free hand onto Toby’s, patting it in hopes to wake him up without freaking him out “Toby?” he asked softly. Toby heard that soft male voice, and realized that Kaun was awake, as his eyes quickly snapped open, and he shifted to look at the raven haired boy nervously “oh uh, h, hey there Kaun, h, how’re you feeling?” he asked worriedly. “Okay I guess, what happened?” the raven haired youth asked, as Toby saw him trying to sit up he reached out and helped him to sit up. “H, hey, take it easy okay? Y, you hit your head pretty bad” Toby confessed worriedly. Kaun touched the back of his head and winced “ow no kidding….on what?” Kaun managed. “Um… the bottom of a stairwell? Hey uh listen, I, I’m really sorry about th, this whole mess, I, I didn’t to hurt you” Toby spoke, a twinge of weakness surfacing in his voice as he spoke. Kaun arched a brow before calming down and shook his head, placing a hand onto Toby’s shoulder. “You didn’t” Kaun told him calmly, to which Toby looked at him confused. “But, h, how can it n. not be my fault, you w, wouldn’t have gotten hurt, I, if I hadn’t been ch, chasing you” Toby protested. Kaun sighed and pulled out a pill bottle; one with the label missing, and took a couple pills from it, swallowing it down with some soda, before looking at the brunette. “Toby, this isn’t your fault, and it’s just a small bump, didn’t even break through the skin” Kaun told him.
“Don’t act like it’s nothing Kaun, you could’ve gone into a coma” Toby protested. “Hardly, I’ve taken worse knocks to the head than that before, and have been perfectly fine… may have had a blaring migraine from it afterwards, but I have a hard head, besides I’m fine now right?” Kaun spoke light heartedly with a casual shrug. ‘How can he be making soo light of this? Does he even know he might never have woken up?’ Toby thought causing his brows to crease together worriedly. “Um…..hey Toby? Are you okay?” Kaun asked worriedly, as Toby grabbed him by the shirt abruptly, pulling him closer. “How can you act so casual about it? You could’ve ended up in a coma, don’t you care what happens to you at all?!” Toby snapped. Kaun blinked confused, before lowering his head “no ….I don’t” Kaun managed sadly, causing Toby’s hands to shake, as he felt a stinging pain in his eyes from what he was hearing. Kaun was one of the few people he truly cared about lately, and he didn’t even care if he lived or not? The thought was practically heartbreaking.
“Wh, why would say that?” Toby asked his voice shaking. “Toby c’mon, are you kidding me? Look at me, I’m an abomination…I murder people in god awful ways, and I can’t remember any of it, I never know when I’m gonna black out and kill again, and if you haven’t noticed, I cry blood… and if it wasn’t for these bandages, people would freak out if they saw me, have you ever tried putting a fake eyeball into an empty socket? I kept missing when I tried to fix it, seriously, think about it Toby, who the hell is gonna want to be with me now, when I’m” he began. However before he could finish, Toby had grabbed him, pulling him against him, and wrapped his arms around the boy consolingly. “You really, d, don’t get it do you? If anything h, happened to you I don’t know what I would’ve d, done” Toby told him. Kaun’s cheeks burned a crimson shade as he nervously averted his gaze. “What are you saying Toby? You would’ve been fine….. you always are aren’t you?” Kaun managed to which Toby suddenly grabbed his chin tilting the boy’s head towards him, forcing their eyes to meet. “I’ve already lost one person who meant the world to me; please…don’t make me lose you too?” Toby spoke sadly. Kaun felt his heart race; Toby seemed genuinely depressed about the idea of losing him. To be honest, he really hadn’t expected anyone to care about him, let alone the very boy he had been crushing on, ever since they had met. He almost wondered if he was dreaming. Though the feeling Toby’s fingers on his chin felt real enough to prove otherwise.
“Toby…I” Kaun began, but could find the words as Ticci Toby placed a finger to his lips. “I’m not l, losing you a, g, gain” he spoke gently, as he touched the side of Kaun’s face, after pulling down the face mask and leaned in, pressing his mouth over Kaun’s. The raven haired boy’s eyes went wide as he blushed furiously, his heart was racing in confusion, but it’s not like he was really opposed to it either. Considering that he had been secretly fantasizing about being with the brunette, and now it was happening for real. Kaun felt himself losing the ability to keep himself propped up, as his hands slipped on the sheets beneath him. In a moment of panic, he tried to stabilize himself, by grabbing onto the other boy, since he was the closest thing to the raven haired boy at the time. However, he soon learned that in doing so, he unintentionally knocked Toby off balance, causing Ticci Toby to trip, as he unexpectantly fell on top of Kaun, and onto the bed. “Oh God, T, Toby, I am soo sorry, a, are you okay?” Kaun panicked, blushing furiously. Toby realized he was on top of the other teen and smirked, giving a mischievous chuckle. “Heh, heh, awww you care, how cute” the brunette male teased. “I am not cute Toby” Kaun protested annoyed “sure you’re not” Toby teased as he knelt in. “Toby Rogers, this isn’t funny dammit, quit teasing me” Kaun argued. “Why should I, when I have you right where I want you?” Toby spoke in devious, yet slightly seductive tone. Kaun began blushing furiously “you really are cute…. my little Kaun of Rain” he teased “Toby, I thought I told you, I’m not cu” he began but was cut off abruptly, by Toby’s mouth suddenly over his. ‘Kaun, I swear I will make you love me’ Toby thought to himself, as he held onto the raven haired boy, and deepened the kiss. He had almost lost him to a possibly concussion induced coma, he wasn’t going to risk losing him again.
