Friendly SpiderI wouldn't be scared of spiders
if they had upon their feet
four pairs of tiny shoes,
polished, clean and neat.
And maybe a little top hat,
a cane, a shirt and tie,
I wouldn't put a glass on him
and leave him there to die.
Imagine that, a spider smart
and with some manners too,
I'd welcome him at any time
and spare him from my shoe.
I'd let him build his webs around
and spin them fair and thick,
we'd watch as all the flies get stuck
and laugh until we're sick.
We'd forge a lasting friendship,
he'd sleep on me, all snug,
he's eight arms to hold you with,
to give a hearty hug.
