According to a recent study, one-third of Americans are sleep deprived. What happens when you don't get the sufficient sleep you need?
o You feel fatigued
o You have trouble concentrating

o You are at higher risk for injuries, depression, heart attacks and other serious diseases
o You may have memory problems
o There is an increase in your cortisol level
Normally, a body needs 8 hours of sleep; most Americans sleep less than 6. In some studies, people who sleep 2 hours before midnight perform better and are in lower risk of acquiring health problems compared to people who sleep at midnight. For sleep deprived golf players, they lost 3-5 strokes per round.
