Stories and stuff
She stared blankly at the emotionless features of the man she had loved. His cold body rested against her trembling arms as her vision blurred. The tears that threatened to stain her cheeks were too much for her to bear at this moment, or rather, there were far larger concerns that faced her.

The rumors of the maddened Darkness knight had not been false, as much as the woman prayed they were. Shuffling of restless feet brought her gaze from the man’s face, crimson hues zoning into the crazed magenta orbs that threatened to pierce her very soul. Silence thickened between the two, unspoken threats and the relishing of such things floated between the queen and knight. It was without warning that Mika stood, shakily reaching for her lover’s sword. The knight’s expression twisted into that of a monster. Such an expression made the queen sick, hatred and disgust rolling inside her stomach uncontrollably.

No sound escaped her frame as she lunged toward the red haired devil, lips pressed into a line as she made a desperate attempt to enact revenge for Caelum’s sake. Though each kingdom had a ceasefire with another, Ophelia gave little care for such things. She was bred for war, infected with madness from Ave Lombardi. It was in the deepest core of her soul that she thrived in battle. At the thought of these facts, Mika bit into her lip, unsure if she could even bring down the monster before her. Would she end up just like Caelum? A dead corpse? No. She had tricks up her sleeve. Her sanguine pools watched as Ophelia merely reached out to grasp the sword, giving little care to the blade that dug into the metal of her gauntlet. A breath hitched in Mika’s throat and she withdrew herself, fingers giving up the weapon.

Is this what the men and women who risked their lives to protect her felt? The intense pressure from the woman’s gaze was enough to drive anyone to depravity; the magenta orbs full of all the sins she had committed through her life.

“S-Stay away!”

Mika’s voice broke the silence, the shrill plea lost to the woman as she began to advance upon the Sky Queen. As the creature closed the distance, Mika began to pray to whatever god would hear her. Rayquaza was the first, as always. Silence followed and she despaired, falling to begging for the Great Dragon to help her.

“Beg and you shall receive, vessel of the Jade Orb.” A voice echoed among the woman’s frantic thoughts. Crimson eyes glazing over to emerald green and the fear faded. What replaced it was an unmatched hatred, burning her skin as if she was enveloped in the sun’s embrace. “Ophelia!” the name left her lips as if she was calling out to the devil, challenging it to come forth from the depths of hell.

Such a brazen move made the woman blink and cease in her advance, eyes flicking to the opposing woman’s green hues. Brows furrowing at such a thing, she could only smirk as the rumors were confirmed before her very eyes. The Jade Orb...Rayquaza had been bound to such a frail soul. Pitiful but amusing. A chuckle erupted from her throat, the sound morphing into laughter in mere seconds. Ophelia’s eyes saw the woman grit her teeth together, jaw tightening at the rage that clutched her heart. Oh, that expression sent chills down the knight’s spine! If only she could sever the woman’s head from her shoulders and cherish such an exquisite emotion for all eternity.

However it was the fact that the knight was swept up in such thoughts that Mika made her own advance, her body moving with unmatched speed. If it had not have been for Ophelia’s sharpened senses, the woman’s neck would be snapped by the frail hands of the Sky Queen. Adrenaline poured into her veins at that instant, fueling the woman further to madness. “Yes! Show me your burning desire to get revenge! Your hatred for the lifeless corpse of the Earth Paladin of whom you loved so dearly!” Another swift action, the woman’s pauldron being torn from her armor. With such speed and power, Ophelia began to doubt that she would be able to bring down the woman. Rayquaza’s power pumped through her body and the knight was sure not even another legendary could intervene and end such blood lust.

Unable to react to the next blow, Ophelia was slung to the ground, coughing up blood from where the woman had pierced her skin, blood seeping from the wound. Eyes moving up to rest on the figure standing above her, the knight decided smirked. “That anger will be the end of you, Sky Queen.” the warrior warned her, cringing when she pressed her boot onto the open wound, digging her heel into the flesh and grinding. It was far worse than a blade. The dirt burned and Ophelia knew at that moment she was doomed to die. If not by Mika’s hands, by infection and blood loss.

“It may as well consume me. What is left on this planet for me to love? My kingdom? They fear me, wench. Claimed a heretic and returning to the kingdom atop Rayquaza allowed them to see my power. Ilija has turned his back on me completely. The only one remaining is Eva...but I fear she will leave me as well.” the woman spoke calmly, emerald hues falling to half mast at the sour thoughts. Shaking her head, strands of white hair whipped her lightly in the face, gaze lowering to the woman squirming in pain under her boot. To make her suffer more or end the woman’s pain and rid her of the disease known as life? It was such a difficult decision for the Sky Queen, but with a roll of her shoulders, she came to a decision.

“Go to hell, b***h.” Mika spat angrily at the woman, releasing the pressure and moving away. Leaving her to die slowly was the only option. Ophelia had mortally wounded Caelum and left him to die in her arms, so why not allow the devil to experience what her precious Paladin endured?

Once standing above the man’s body, her body sank to it’s knees and she cradled him in her arms once more. Her murmurs were carried away by the wind, form slowly coming down from her power induced high. With trembling shoulders, Mika gathered all the strength she could and called out to Wagner. The Noivern landed silently, skulking warily over to his mistress while his gaze rested on the bloody body of the Darkness knight. A soft whine escaped the creatures throat once near the woman. He received no reply as she placed Caelum’s limp body on his back and whispered for him to return to the Sky Kingdom, to await her in her room. The Queen was met with no fuss, the dragon taking flight immediately.

Scowling, she cast a glance over her shoulder as Ophelia’s last breath left her body, the woman passing to the afterlife where she would be tortured for all eternity. With revenge sated, Mika disappeared into the treeline, her goal unknown. Being stricken with grief and anger, the only thing that whispered in the back of her mind was to utterly destroy the three rulers and their lineage and take control over the kingdoms herself.

“With anger as your driving force, none shall oppose you or overthrow you. Remember vessel, you are mine as I am yours. If you need strength, I will give it to you until not even the Earth King can resist kneeling before you.” The sweet promises of power beyond her imagination swayed her once pure heart. If she could make Dimitar falter at her strength, then surely she could be Empress of the lands. No more war. No more segregation. And best of all, no one would lose loved ones to war any longer. It was as if paradise presented itself before her and all she had to do was reach out and grasp it. Yes. The last bit of her soul darkened, a new goal in mind. The future would be far better, happiness would bloom eternally and she would govern the land.

“Caelum would be happy if things ended up like that... Yes. I’ll do it all for Caelum.”
