Space Coast Nerd Fest.
Went to Nerd Fest the other day. It was huge! It was the first year and there were 30,000 people there. I saw the most awesome costumes and met the nicest people. There was a woman my mom's age with a remote-controlled Tardis and there were 2 moving, beeping R2-D2s. I saw Trekkies! I'd never seen one before. I thought I did once but it turned out to be a Hare Krishna. I even got interviewed by Florida Today. I don't know if they'll run the story. The guy asked me how I liked it and stuff and I just said "Uh...it's great". I'm so stupid, I didn't figure out he was interviewing me until much later. It's just as well, if he ran the story there'd probably be a photo. I looked like hell. I was sweaty and my hair was a mess and I was taking a photo of someone else, which makes me make a weird face. Anyway, didn't build any lasting friendships like I'd wanted. Got flirted with a little but I'm spoken for so...yeah. All in all, pretty great day.
Next year, if they do it again, I'll be prepared. This time it was kinda short notice. My costume will be much more elaborate next time. 4 1/2 feet of black gaberdine is not something anyone should wear in Florida, trust me. I'll definitely have more money next time. I was dead-a** broke the other day and felt like my hands were tied behind my back because of it. Give me a break, I got sacked. Anyway... I also think I'll go to more than 1 booth next time. Maybe? Kinda? Sorta? Bis Bald, Buy Bonds.
