Way back in the 4th of July "Flash Sale" (although since it's been Flashing more or less continuously since then, in retrospect it's turned out to be far less of a Blue Light Special and more of a continual spotlight), I bought a Tunnu for 5000 cash. I had the cash saved up from running commercials in the background watching videos for GC, and honestly, I'd kind of expected them to put him on sale at that price over the last Christmas "Flash Sale".
I loved Tunnu. It was one of the absolutely cutest items Gaia's ever produced, in my opinion third only to Kiki and the stupid goddamed ******** bunny slippers.
I equipped Tunnu once. He was as cute as a button. He was an instant AWWWW. At first.
But as the sales went on, and on, and on, and it became apparent that no pixels were sacred in Gaia's almighty cash rush (not even gold, which is why it's not a gold rush, but I digress), Tunnu started looking less cute to me. Every time I looked at him, I was reminded of how this was the start of this "new phase" of Gaia. Which, quite frankly, makes me somewhat nauseous.
I'm not saying I'll never equip Tunnu again, or that he's not as cute as he once was. He still is. But he's now stuck with this aura of sadness through no fault of his own.
Gaia's in the business of selling happiness and satisfaction and fun. I think they've forgotten that, and think that they are in the business of emptying players' wallets (a/k/a making maximum income). The latter can be a consequence of the former, but without the former, the latter is just trying to get something for nothing. Nice work if you can get it, but not real common.
They need to think a bit - a bit? try a LOT - more carefully about the consequences of what seem to be "logical" financial decisions. Because of the moves they've made, I'm a whole lot less inclined to move my GC, free though it may be, to pixels. I don't need any more reminders of what Gaia is decaying into.
