Welcome to Volume 2: Explaining the Good & the Bad of: Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.

I'm pretty sure Yu-Gi-Oh's popularity has gone up recently, I don't know why because 5D and Zexal are both big ol' s**t stacks, but, I'm here to explain why the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG is good, but at the same time, why it's bad.

We're going to start right here explaining the plus sides of the game.
-It's very extensive, Yu-Gi-Oh offers almost millions of cards with millions upon billions of opportunities and combinations. I myself prefer the older cards even though I get less cards, with even less combinations. You see, as Yu-Gi-Oh has progressed, it has given us greater card effects, it's given us higher attack and defense capabilities, but along with that, it has given people many burdens. But we'll get to that later.
In Yu-Gi-Oh it's important to remember all of the rules. "But aren't there just too many rules to know them all?!?" Okay, so there are tons of rules to follow, but you don't actually have to remember them, just remember the basics. Whenever I duel, I make sure I have my calculator and my rule book, just in case. "But my card's effect contradicts the rule book!" If you weren't allowed to use it's effect would the makers have put it on there? No. Whenever a card's effect doesn't follow standard procedure, that means it's not supposed to, follow the card's effect. Now, I don't know anything about the rules as far as 5D's and Zexals new cards, but, when it comes to GX and the original, the rules are fairly simple. So keep on dueling, enjoy yourself.

But this is the part where you stop being joyful, now, we're going to explain the bad parts of the game, the parts that make you whine, and grunt, and throw your hand to the floor.
We'll start small:
1. You can only have 10 monsters on the entire field, 5 for each person, damn, dude, in MTG I have about 8 or 9 out at the same time!
2. You can only summon once per turn unless you special summon or trigger summon! Dude, that bites, in MTG you can summon as many as your Mana Pool will allow!
3. Equip Spells: Sometimes your opponent covers their whole Spell/Trap Zone with Equip Spells that boost that 2,700 attack Buster Blader all the way up to 5,000, you just got Metaphorically s**t On.
4. Field Spells: Sometimes your opponent knows your deck too well and they have a Field Spell that either boosts their monsters only, or it will decrease the attack or defense of your monsters only because they're not the right type and/or attribute.
5. Over-Powered New Cards: I've only ever seen a small handful of the new cards: I've seen the Stardust Dragon and Stardust Dragon Overdrive or whatever it's called, that s**t sucks, if you get the card that allows you to play that in your first 3 or 4 turns, opponent's dead by the 5th turn. Or, when people play by "Home Rules" and they use God Cards or they use the Sphinxes, or they have Chaos Dragon Emperor - Envoy of the End, WTF?! Okay, guess I'm gonna die in a few turns.
6. Over-Powered Traps: Scrap Iron Scarecrow, not even going to explain that little s**t-head. I hate people that use those, wtf, I don't give a s**t, Giant Tsunami, I may be destroying my whole Spell/Trap Zone, but I'm also destroying yours!
7. Field Wipers: Dark Hole, Giant Tsunami, Rageki (Or however you spell that shitty one with the lightning bolt that destroys all of your monsters.), pretty much any card that gets rid of all things on the field, come on, are you just trying to be a douche? Only use those in extreme emergencies.

Okay, well, don't know how to end this on a happy note other than saying that both games have their ups and their downs, but Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering are both pretty good games, I play both and I urge people that haven't played either one of them to play one or both, and people that play one or the other, just try the second one, won't you? They're both full of strategy, critical thinking, etc.
