I ended up passing out at 10 am. I woke to my ipod making noises like it was nobodies business. I had received a lot of texts from my childhood friends from the next town over. After moving last year we haven't hung out as much as I'd like. Getting texts from them all at once kinda made my head spin. Anthony offered me a ride down to the town and I gladly took it. It gave me a chance to meet up with everyone and hang out. It had been a while since my circle of friends got together and I was happy. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment knowing my lover had avoided spending the day with me.
I can't really blame him though. I mean my family is not easy to handle. After arriving in town, Anthony and I walked a pretty good distance to my friend Tara's house. We spent time there for a while hitting each other from across the room with a giant yoga ball. I had "accidentally" hit Anthony square in the face when he had opened the door down the narrow hallway that branched from the living room. I quickly ducked and missed a bullet and Tara took the hit like a champ and went down holding a plate which I had caught mid air (LIEKABAUSS). Not to totally brag (which I am) but I have crazy reflexes at really strange times.
Around five we walked across town to Scott's house while bantering and joking with each other in the strange way we seem to have developed over the years. Yep comfortable, awkward teenagers. After arriving, we pulled a lot of fireworks out and an old friend from middle school showed up. It was a pretty happy reunion for everyone. I had a chance to meet my friend Cheylene's lover whom I was weary of until he relaxed and started being himself. I don't for sure like him but that's just me being in momma bear mode like I normally am with friends I actually give a ******** about. If she's happy I'm happy I suppose. I did pull him aside and pat him "gently" on the back and threaten his life if he ever hurt her I'd choke him with his entrails that I would gore out with a spoon. He took it rather well...
When it got dark I walked with everyone to the river and we all met up at the gazebo. As we passed by into the narrow street that had been blocked off for festival stalls I managed to get caught by Phil. You could say Phil is your average small person who works as a real estate agent and just happens to be very obsessed with me. I'm flattered but he really doesn't get the message I'm not into him... everyone agreed to meet him later on when he got done helping out at a barbecue stall. I took Anthony's phone and we walked down by the water while I tried to get ahold of my friend Victoria. I saw Jessie and his girlfriend there and they ask what I was doing. Not thinking it was a big deal I told them. My words were rewarded by their rude comments and crude gestures at my friend while I was trying to call her. Seriously...Just because you don't like someone doesn't give you the right to say such cruel things.. I hate people very much most of the time sometimes.
Later on after drinking enough alcohol to get a horse hammered I managed to mob around the river and set firecrackers off at Officer Spangler's feet. I thought it was funny, he thought it was funny, it was a win win situation. Phil left and I came across Andrew and Brett (more childhood friends..), and they hung out for a while and I lent a hand babysiting his smashed mother. Woohoo I got to play babysitter~
I wandered around alone while the fireworks were going off. I stared at them and felt my heart hurt a bit. I really did wish my lover was there.. After about 20 minutes of moping, Sonia found me and we went across town after finding Anthony and letting him know I'd be at his house later that night. I joined Sonia on a walk across town and we met up with her friend. After getting pleasantly cross faded I took my leave and went back to Anthony's house.
The rest of my time was spent taking apart fireworks and making giant smoke bombs out of discarded fireworks tubes and smoke bomb powder as well as some wicks I had on me for such an occasion. By the end of the night I had set off 3 car alarms and almost given a dog a heart attack.
Day well spent...
