As I walk silently down a long path,
with no thought in mind or soul,
It began to rain.
Just a sprinkle at first,
sounding soft on the sidewalk like children's laughter.
But as I walk, it grows.
Falling hard, faster,
till there is no place to hide from it.
And for one moment,
I could feel the earth sigh deeply a breath of relief from this spring shower.
I could hear the plants sing with joy as life fell from the sky.
The scent of wet soil and sin being washed away was like heaven,
the Daphene filled the air and only peace could be found.
Each drop on my skin like a kiss and whisper of love,
Calming the torrid which had taken over,
Dragging me away from that which I hold dear.
And for one moment,
In that spring shower and whispered kisses,
I knew in my heart,
I have never felt more alive.
