We allow ourselves too be fooled by other people. Everyone just isn't who they are. They wear a mask that completely hides their true selves. They won't be able too take off the mask because they are afraid of what the others will think. They will keep trying on different masks because that's all they can do. No one can stop them. When you realize your tired of hiding whats on the inside you'll do something too express it. I dont understand why society has too be so judgemental on everyone. It's brought us down and ruined us.

When someone wears a mask—trying to persuade people that they're one thing on the outside, but really they're someone else on the inside—that is called being a hypocrite. The word was originally used in reference to actors.

Quote:
[...] The word hypocrisy comes from the Greek ὑπόκρισις (hypokrisis), which means "jealous", "play-acting", "acting out", "coward" or "dissembling".

[...] hypokrites was a technical term for a stage actor and was not considered an appropriate role for a public figure. In Athens in the 4th century BC, for example, the great orator Demosthenes ridiculed his rival Aeschines, who had been a successful actor before taking up politics, as a hypocrites whose skill at impersonating characters on stage made him an untrustworthy politician. This negative view of the hypokrites, perhaps combined with the Roman disdain for actors, later shaded into the originally neutral hypokrisis. It is this later sense of hypokrisis as "play-acting", i.e., the assumption of a counterfeit persona, that gives the modern word hypocrisy its negative connotation.

Matthew 15:7-9 (NIV)

7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’[a]”

Footnotes:

a. Matthew 15:9; Isaiah 29:13

"heart" refers to your inner-being; the person who they truly were on the inside at heart did not match what they were saying on the outside; therefore, they are hypocrites. Doesn't matter what society says, we're suppose to live honestly. Blame the individual, not the pressures of the world. We're not suppose to give into the world or what the world thinks is right or wrong. A Christian, for example, is suppose to follow what Yeshua and our Heavenly Father say to do, even if the world/society doesn't approve.
