Chapter 1.
About a few hundred years down the road, the future had risen and there was moving cars along with high rises, and women wearing pants, and short skirts along with bikinis. It was early morning and the sun was barely peaking over the mountain. High above the city of Vancouver was ten local young adults who had finished off their college and were working as the dream jobs that they have always wanted and worked hard for. They had decided that they needed some time to themselves, get out of the city and take a break.
Elizabeth being a big sister for volunteer, and working as a high up office end worker, she was the head of her office job. Being a consultant. She went onto the computer looking for a great resort they could go to without taking an airplane, and then she found it. Banff, she smiled to herself, and booked the castle hotel rooms for ten people. Once she was done she got up and text everyone that she knew. 'I got it, I got the hotel booked' She text and sent off.
Elizabeth was a young woman with incredibly long platinum blonde hair and tall, she was usually cheerful, very intelligent and had eyes that stood out, that made her seem not at all human. Her eyes, were literally emerald green, no one knew where on earth she got them eyes from but, her boyfriend loved them eyes.
Her boyfriend Jack had came in while seeing a smile upon her face. Jack was a man who worked as a construction worker, he helped build and reconstruct buildings, he worked on high rises and in small houses, and was the best of the best. He had jet black hair and incredible blue eyes, with a smile that just melted Elizabeth's heart.
"Someone is in a happy mood today" Jack spoke sitting down next to her.
"Of course I am, I just booked us a hotel in Banff, and you would never guess what hotel it is" She said to him smiling at Jack.
Jack thought about it. "It's not the Hot spring hotel is it?" Jack asked her
Elizabeth shook her head. "No, it is the one I always wanted to go to, since it is a lovely place, and it said to be haunted" Elizabeth said to him. It was their day off that day, no work needed to be done, and it was in mid June. They needed a holiday since Canada Day was just around the bend.
Few minutes later her girlfriends came in. "You got it? This is no joke Liz?" A girl named Chantal asked she was a tough yet very beautiful girl, her hair was brunette, near red, with what looked like midnight blue. Her eyes were almost green but they had a tinge of yellow to them, also an abnormal color.
Elizabeth smiled at her friend. "No, I am not joking, we have booked the hotel" Elizabeth told her
Another girl by the name of Tiffany looked to Liz. "Alright then which Hotel is it?" Tiffany asked.
Tiffany was a woman with really pale skin, even more than Elizabeth, Tiffany looked as though she had porcelain skin. She looked like one of them Geisha's that would have natural white skin and ruby red lips. Her hair was also long with eyes that shined red, every now and then. When she smiled she would flash some fangs, that were abnormally long, as though she were some sort of vampire, but doctors and dentists just called it abnormally long teeth.
Their other two girl friends Laura and Carol were also abnormal ladies.
Laura had red hair with green streaks through her hair, and naturally done. Her eyes were also an ocean blue color, near green but mostly blue. She was an excellent cook and worked often at a coffee shop, and at a day care center.
Carol, she had the voice that could hypnotize any man. When she sang it was like a siren call, she had the hair color of purple, and purple eyes. She was not the tallest of the group, but she was indeed the shortest, next to Tiffany, they have said that she might of gotten that short gene from her mom's side. But the strange thing was about all these women, was that they grew up in Orphanages.
Elizabeth looked at her girlfriends and smiled getting ready to tell them where they were going to stay during their holiday. "We are going to be staying at the Banff Mountain Springs Hotel, this hotel is also called The Castle of the Rockies" Elizabeth announced.
The girls looked to Elizabeth with a shocked look to their faces. "Are you serious?" Laura asked
Elizabeth nodded her head. "Yes I am very serious, I got on the ball and booked it right away, now all I have to do is get the tickets, and the papers" Elizabeth told them.
They all smiled and cheered. "It is about time, I am going to go pack up and get ready for our trip" Laura said while leaving the apartment. Followed by the other three later on. The girls even packed for their boyfriends and bringing their lingerie and their bikinis. They packed what they needed and wanted for the trip.
Elizabeth was also packing. She knew that they did not really need shampoo and conditioner but she managed to pack those too along with her hair brush and tooth brush. She packed some snacks for on their way there. Jack was helping her out with the packing and the organizing.
"Jack, have you seen my necklace?" Elizabeth asked looking around as she was trying to find her necklace.
Jack was taking a break with his coffee, while he watched her look for her necklace.
"Which one? You have so many of them" Jack told her sipping on his coffee.
Elizabeth was always the one making the coffee for Jack since she ends up making the best coffee for him, and even Jonothon admits to that, and he criticizes everything she does, even down to the cooking, and baking.
Jonothon was Jack's best friend and the boyfriend to her best friend Chantal. The two argue more than a cat and dog fight. But the two love each other so much, it was as though they were destined to be together, just like an old married couple that constantly bicker at one another, and yet never leave one another due to the love that no one would ever understand.
Jonothon didn't exactly have dark hair like Jack did, nor the bluest eyes, but he had dark chestnut brown hair, a goatee, honey colored eyes, and an incredible body. He too just like Jack works at a construction site, he has the same job as Jack does.
The day goes by and Liz still could not find her necklace, and was going into panic mode, she found her crystal necklace which was also precious to her, each of her friends had one each. They all went out to the van to get on moving to head out to Banff. They soon began to draw straws to see who was going to drive, since they all use one vehicle to drive each of everyone to work. When one of the men won, it was David who had won the luck of the draw to drive them all the way to Banff. It would take them hours before they could actually come across civilization. They did not bother to stop unless for food, bathroom break, or gas. But not once did they actually need to go for any of those.
The time turned to hours, the hours turned to darkness, and soon a strange fog began to roll in, and heavy rains started to settle in. This time had turned from exciting adventure to an eerie worry.
"David, where exactly are we?" Elizabeth asked calmly but with a worried tone.
David sighed "I have no idea, the gps is not really telling me where we are, it's malfunctioning, saying it is an unmarked road, or road unknown, there is no left or right turn" David told her back.
David was a man who was a wealthy man, he worked as a handy man, getting multiple jobs for every little thing. Since he was already wealthy, his friends wanted to let him know what it was like to be more down to earth than being high up in the riches relying on credit cards. He was the next in line to his father's business, even though he was adopted, his father and mother could not have any children, so they adopted him. He had a lighter brown hair that was near red, he dated Carol and often stuck something in her mouth when ever she tried to sing to him. It wasn't that he didn't like her singing, he actually loved it when she sang, but it was the fact that he did not want to be hypnotized the way she did during her shows that she often did. Carol sang for a living, and often got a lot of money out of it, due to her ability to hypnotize people with just her voice alone.
Carol and Laura were the only ones who were sleeping the entire time they were within the van waiting for them to all arrive at the hotel.
Soon within the dense fog and the complete darkness, the van broke down in the middle of no where, no lights, not even a single town in sight.
"What just happened?" Chantal asked the fear within everyone began to rise up.
Nathan a man who had reddish blond hair unbuckled his seat belt and stepped out of the vehicle.
"I will fix it!" Nathan spoke up David popped the hood for Nathan, as he looked through the entire car.
Nathan worked as a mechanic and on weekends as a comedian. He soon placed the hood down and had a smile upon his face making everyone think he had fixed the van.
"You fixed it?" Tiffany asked her boyfriend.
Nathan smiled "Nope, it is as dead as a corpse" Nathan said
Tiffany growled "Nathan! You made us think that the car was working you a*****e!" Tiffany said getting out of the car.
Elizabeth and Jack both got out of the car, Elizabeth still heart broken that she still did not find her necklace on which was within Jack's pocket.
They all turned to Liz for an answer. "What? Suddenly I have to be the one with all the answers?" Elizabeth asked them then she let out a sigh. "Fine... I will think of something at least" She said then turned to the head of the hood. She was thinking to herself quietly Jack coming up to her touching her shoulders for reassurance and giving her some sort of glimmer of help.
She was looking out to the horizon where ever the Horizon might be within the dense fog. When suddenly she began to see a small flicker of a light just shining out within the dark dense fog.
"Hey, guys! There is a light up ahead, perhaps we can go over there and find out if there is a telephone we could use or at least some thing warm for us" Elizabeth said pointing out to the distance. She could tell that they were on top of a hill since it was so far downwards.
David and Nathan both began to push the van to go in that direction.
"Guys I really do not think you should be pushing the van" Elizabeth said "At least without someone on the breaks" She suggested.
David looked to Elizabeth "And why is that?" He asked still pushing the van until they came to the hill part and it began to slip away from their hands.
"That is why" She said while they all began to chase after the van. Screaming and yelling at the van for Carol and Laura to be woken up to put the breaks on.
Laura and Carol both woken up to this living nightmare, they screamed loudly, Laura ducked and waited for the impact, Carol climbed over the seats to get to the dash board, but as they were rolling fast, she had seen some rather large black iron gates and a woman looking like Tiffany standing right in front of them. She embraced herself for impact and waited for the impact. But instead, the van slowed down to a complete gentle stop.
Everyone came in not that long after, David and Kyle both got Carol and Laura out of the van, making sure that they were all okay. Laura and Carol were only shaken up badly from the nightmare they woke up to.
Elizabeth was walking around looking to the gate and to their surroundings. She found this place odd, and yet really eerie that it happens to be where they are lost.
Chantal was looking at the name of the hotel. "Hotel De Cauchemar" Chantal spoke out the name "Sounds luxurious" Chantal said then looking to the building.
Kyle was not feeling quiet right about the building. "Something doesn't feel right about this hotel, I would rather vote that we stay in the van until morning" Kyle told them.
Carol looked to her watch. "Kyle, it was suppose to be morning hours ago" She said pointing to her watch that had said 9 am in the morning.
Tiffany had a strange feeling about this place. "Why do I get the odd feeling that we or I have been here before?" Tiffany asked out loud.
Elizabeth looked to Tiffany and shrugged "I do not know, but I feel as though I have been here also, I don't know how many of you have that feeling, but I am really getting the same feeling you are, Tiff" Elizabeth said
The rest of the ladies agreed except for the men.
"We haven't been here before, so we are out of this eerie feeling club hey?" Jonothon asked
Nathan looked to the iron gates. "Well the gates are locked, so how do we get in to get help?" Nathan asked as he turned around to find some sort of intercom to speak to whom ever was within the building the gates unlocked themselves and opened with a rustic squeaky sound.
Carol was beside herself unsure of what she had seen earlier and struggling with herself whether to tell someone or not. But she knew exactly who to tell. "Hey Liz, can I tell you something, if you promise not to laugh at me" Carol said to her
Elizabeth nodded at her friend. "Yes of course, you know you can tell me anything" Elizabeth said with a smile
Carol thought about it, then took a deep breath in. "You believe in spirits right?" Carol asked
Elizabeth gave her a look that was confusion. "Of course I do, but where is all this coming from?" Elizabeth asked
"I swear I had seen Tiffany standing in front of the van just before it came to a stop, she was wearing old fashioned clothes" Carol told her
Elizabeth placed a hand upon her shoulders. "Maybe you are just tired and need some rest, it has been a long tiring night for all of us" She told her kindly.
They continued down the cold wet path, each of them carrying their own luggage. Tiffany had brought her dog along with them, and he happened to be all wolf, and her very best friend that protects her life, along with her friends.
They finally got to the front door, entering into the building drenched and cold.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" Jack spoke up his voice echoing.
No one was answering, Elizabeth was paying attention to every detail.
"Hello?" Jono followed after Jack calling out to see if anyone was actually in this building.
"I swear someone was here, I seen a flicker of light, and that cannot happen unless someone was within this very building" Elizabeth said "HELLO! is anyone here? We do not mean to intrude but we have lost our way, and need a place to dry off, sleep, get food, and possibly even make a quick phone call if possible" Elizabeth said checking her cell phone since there was no service. Everyone's cell phone had absolutely no service, not even the gps could tell them where they were.
"If someone is here, we would like to know where exactly it is we are, and how we can get back on the road, our vehicle had broken down and we need a mechanic, or at least a tow truck" Tiffany spoke up
The wind picked up and slammed the doors shut locking them all in to the hotel.
"Great... now we are doomed... locked in this place when I said we could of stayed in the vehicle, for all we know the guy here could be a complete maniac" Kyle said while he was shaking looking around.
"You poor children, of course you can stay at my hotel, dry off, and have a nice hot meal" A eerie French male voice spoke up from the darkness.
They all jumped turning to the source of that voice to a pale faced man, with black hair and white streaks. His eyes were red almost brown but mostly red.
The man was looking at the young adults. But then seen the women, he recognized every last one of them. But mostly Tiffany. "Mademoiselles, if it is beds you seek, it is beds you shall have" the man said
Tiffany kind of recognized him, it was some sort of connection that she had that made this man seem almost close to her.
"What is your name Monsieur?" Elizabeth asked the man politely.
"My name is Jericho, Mademoiselle" He said finding the right key. "I am sorry but there is only two kinds of Chambres à coucher, that I can find, le other keys are missing some how" Jericho told them handing the keys to two boys that had come in.
"Blake, Alden, you shall take these keys, and these lovely people to their Chambres à coucher, and wait until they settle in" Jericho told them straight out.
They followed the two boys to their rooms, noticing that the boys had matching collars, and one of them separated the men going down one corridor away from the women.
The other went in the opposite direction of his brother with the women, showing them the way to their bedrooms.
This had confused the lot, and why so far away, they had no idea of the reasons, but they went along with it, as long as they were in groups and not separated that was the most important to them.
