Limbs kept in close,
as my back presses to the peak of the knoll...
Watching the elongated blades of grass bend,
to even the gentlest of breezes.
Waving locks and hook-like ends of my tresses,
sprawl through out, and in between each blade;
greeting and encircling a soft embrace to them.
Eyes, raising at their lids,
cast their once dull colored gaze to the sky;
sampling the shade of the faint blue,
no longer as vivid as it once was...
Only the truest of blue lies within a memory.
Is it that of the memory that retains such a color in my eyes?
The color stained the practically monochrome tint,
tinging the gray with a touch of life.
The glance followed across melting colors,
of a pale robin's egg blue,
to an ashen white.
Draining the skies of color,
bleeding every ounce
into my irises.
The sun's rays had shone its last glint of warmth,
radiating gold and amber past trees.
A honey glistened kiss goodbye,
cascades over the area.
The last touch of day, before leaving for night to come.
Rustling leaves shiver to the brush of night coming closer,
and each branch had a contour of black shrouded their figures;
exposing each contorted branch, from one crooked angle to another.
"Oh... How unique." A soft voice strummed through my thoughts.
Carefully etching and analyzing each crux of the slender wood.
The night had pervaded over the skies.
Consuming the last of the light,
and over-powering it,
ever so slowly.
Now was the time to retreat.
Layers of comfort call for me.
