Morning has came and Laeril had just woken from her sleep to hear a bunch of talking downstairs. She hurried to get dressed and ready for the day. She rushed out of her room and downstairs. Laeril stepped into the dinning hall and everyone turned and looked at her,she felt awkward. Then everyone had said,"Good Morning Laeril." Laeril bowed and replied back,"Good Morning All."
Shaar and Shaaria motioned Laeril to come sit with them. Laeril moved her way down and sat next to her mother. When Laeril looked up;however, she saw the man from last night right before her eyes at the table. Laeril at that moment felt embarrassed, she look down the table and noticed all the guys that tried out for being knights were all there. Laeril remain calm and ate her breakfast normally. When everyone finished King Shaar had discussed the rules and so forth of the home.
Laeril felt bored and so she looked at the man in front of her and he looked back. Laeril blushed and looked to her parents talking. The man slightly laughed but looked back tot he king and queen. Shaar had finish speaking and everyone made their way to the throne room. The Barastls sat in their seats and Shaar had the list ready. Shaar started calling names, the first one called was the man Laeril had an eye on. He name was revealed to Laeril,his name was "Kevin Night."
Kevin had came up and knelt before Laeril's parents and was named as a knight. Kevin had gotten up and bowed before Laeril. Laeril blushed a bit and she bowed her head back. Kevin raised himself and smiled brightly then walked off to get his armor and so forth. As the names continued, Laeril had just daydreamed and waited for it to end. It was afternoon and we had finally finished announcing our knights.
Everyone went to the dinning hall and sat in their spots and lunch was served. Kevin once again had sat across and in front of Laeril. Laeril noticed that seat was his permanent seat and had just acted normal. Kevin whispered lowly but loud enough for Laeril to hear. "I'm assuming you got my name now, haven't you?" whispered Kevin. Laeril heard him and replied. "Of course I did, Kevin," she whispered back with a smile. Kevin laughed a bit and then continued the chat. "So,I had a wondering..." "What's that?",said Laeril. "Did you go to Areril High School?" Laeril thought for a moment and replied. "I did, only for the first day though, then I was home schooled." Kevin was a bit shocked and then said, "That means you were the girl I ran into and talked for a bit." Laeril sighed and nodded. Kevin looked confused and then asked,"Why were you home schooled?" Laeril looked down and then replied, "I was home schooled because of the fact I was always lonesome, I just continued to be that way..." Kevin felt bad and wasn't sure what else to say.
Lunchtime was over and then knights prepared themselves for further training while Laeril went to her room. Shaaria and Shaar went to observe the knights so no real conflicts occurred. Laeril, lonesome and bored as usual in her room, she played music and started singing. Kevin was in the middle of a practice battle when he heard Laeril. He stopped for a moment to listen and then continued on. Laeril had stop singing and played with her hair sitting at her mirror.
Shaaria had knocked on her room door and asked,"May I come in?" Laeril thought for a moment and replied,"Yes, you may mother." Shaaria opened the door and walked to where Laeril was. Laeril turned to her mother and questioned her, "Why are you here?" "I wanted to talk to you about something."said Shaaria. "What may that be?" Laeril said confused. Shaaria laughed,"I know you have an interest in someone." Laeril looked down and then back at her mother. "So? Is it wrong to have such a feeling?" Laeril wondered. Shaaria hugged Laeril then responded back,"Of course its not wrong,not at all, just be careful that's all." Laeril hugged her mother back and smiled. "Thanks mom." Laeril said as she looked out her window. "Anything for you my dear.", Shaaria said as she closed the door behind her, as she left the room.
It was getting to dinnertime when Laeril was peacefully reading. She was rather contented and joyful. All of a sudden, she heard noises near her window. She got scared, she was not sure what to do. Laeril hid so she was not seen and then knights rushed through her door as some creatures came through her window. Laeril tried to remain calm then something had grabbed her. She was about to scream but Kevin covered her mouth and said it was alright.
Laeril felt relieved and remain calm as Kevin took her some where safe. Kevin locked the door and covered the windows as Laeril sat on the empty floor. Kevin made sure Laeril be safe and then knelt at her side and talked to her. "Are you alright,milady?" Kevin questioned. Laeril looked at him and then looked around. She then refocus on Kevin and responded,"I was rather frighten but I'm okay, still a bit scared though." Kevin looked around and then held Laeril's hand. "Milady, you will be alright, I promise." Kevin then kissed her hand. Laeril blushed and thought to herself,"He's so charming and noble I can't help but feel safe with him." Kevin looked up at her and smiled, Laeril followed his gaze and blushed still. Kevin drawled close to kiss her, but suddenly footsteps that did not sound humanly came by and both knight and princess stood still. Laeril felt scared but Kevin still held her hand and kept her still.
The dark creatures sniffed around but got no track of Laeril. They moved their way far from where Laeril and Kevin were. Kevin moved his hand from Laeril and search the room carefully and there was nothing to be alarmed. Laeril moved slightly but very quietly and looked around. Something below Laeril grabbed her and she screamed.
Kevin rushed to Laeril and pulled her from the monster's grip and slayed the monster. Kevin made sure there wasn't any more of them coming. Laeril tried to remain calm but was still startled. Kevin went Laeril and gave her, his hand, she held his hand and Kevin sat next to her. Kevin whispered to Laeril. "Laeril, are you alright?" "I'm okay once again just really lost for what this is all about." Laeril whispered back. Kevin held Laeril close in his arms and told her," You will be fine, I will protect you with all I can, milady." Laeril and Kevin looked at each other. Laeril blushed and Kevin smiled at her.
Kevin sat against the wall; Laeril sat next to him and set her head on his shoulder. Kevin held Laeril close to him and Laeril had fell asleep in his arms and in his warmth. Kevin stayed awake and kept a lookout.
Morning arise and Kevin shook Laeril awake. "Good Morning Laeril.", Kevin said. Laeril opened her eyes and looked at Kevin. "Morning Kevin.", Laeril said sleepily. Kevin gave Laeril a hand up and he opened the door. When Laeril got on her feet, Kevin kept hold her hand and lead her through the castle. They went to the dinning hall and there everyone was relieved that they were still alive. Kevin let go of her hand and her parents came up and hugged her. Laeril hugged her parents back and watch Kevin go to his spot at the table.
The Barastls went to their seats and everyone was quiet but a few discussions. Laeril looked up to see Kevin and spoke with him quietly,"How did you find me?" Kevin paused to think and had said, "Well... I rather guessed and was glad you had not been taken by those monsters." "Oh really?", said Laeril. Kevin nodded his head and smiled.
When everyone had finished eating and then Laeril was taken to a new room to be in for the moment. The knights and Laeril's parents had a conversation at the table of their plans. "What happened last night could easily happen again.", stated Shaar. The knights had gotten noisy about it and the king placed his hand up and the knights silenced. Shaar turned to Kevin and asked him questions. "Was Laeril kept safe where you took her?" Yes, Sir, but something had attacked her but I saved her with no harm to her.", said Kevin. "Those monsters.." Shaar paused then continued,"They are so sinister, there must be something we can do to keep Laeril alive." The room went silent and suddenly many of the men came up with ideas and they started working a plan.
Meanwhile, Laeril sat on the windowsill of the room and looked out upon the land. She sighed and got a book to read while she was bored. Afternoon came along, Laeril finished reading an began to draw. As she finished;however, someone knocked on the door. Laeril looked at her door and questioned, "Who is there?" There was silence then the person spoke,"It's Kevin." Laeril thought for a moment. "Come in.", Laeril said cautiously. Kevin opened the door, came in and closed the door behind him. Laeril went to him and they hugged each other. Kevin looked at Laeril talked to her. "I have somethings to tell you,milady.", Kevin said. Laeril thought,"I wonder what it could be..." "What is it Kevin?', Laeril questioned. Kevin looked around and explained to Laeril that of which was discussed. Laeril looked down and cried. "Why me?", Laeril said as she cried. Kevin hugged her and told her, "It's alright Laeril, I'll be at your side and be with you in this trip." Laeril continued to cry on his shoulder; hugging him back. Kevin stroked her hair and then kissed her forehead. Laeril blushed as Kevin wiped away her tears. Laeril kissed him on the lips and then turned around fiddling with her hair blushing bright red. Kevin laughed and smiled; just when he was about to speak, Laeril's parents knocked on her door. Laeril regain herself as Kevin went to the door and bowed as the king and queen came through. Kevin closed the door behind him and prepared for the next day. Shaar and Shaaria talked to Laeril and then hugged as they all cried.
They regain themselves and then Laeril's parents told her that this day was her last day here before she must go. Nighttime came and Laeril was still awake in her bed. She was so confused but thought about Kevin and fell asleep with a smile on her face.
