Christmas Shopping Part 2 and I Talk About Our Cats
I got half my shopping done in a day thanks to a wonderful site known as J-List. Now I got the shopping done for my brother and sister, I know what to get for my Mum and it's all set.

No stress, no hassles, no crowds...just horribly large shipping fees. x.x.

Oh gosh. I won't be doing that again for a while. Still it was totally worth it 'cause I think they're going to like the things I chose. Usually it's just the four of us and sometimes friends pop in to visit during the actual day, so Christmas is a small but happy affair. I know it's not really about things at all. Still every year we do buy gifts for each other. One or two things and have a nice lunch together. And play games or watch anime. It's good.

Got the cats those packets of teeny toy mice again. I get them new mice every year. It's amazing how they all go missing by the end of the year and turn all ratty. Oh, no pun intended. I just mean they get a lot of love. Lol.

Our kitties are both indoor cats since we live near a road, there are dogs around that sometimes get out, some neighbours set out cat traps...and our garden is a great habitat for deadly snakes. Kiki likes catching brown snakes and bringing them inside. She's been bitten by black whip snakes a few times that we let her have free roam and those thankfully are not too venemous to cats, but the experience was enough to make us keep our cats inside. She once brought a brown in the house and another time she was almost bitten by one so the snake catcher is well acquainted with us.

Not to mention fleas and ticks in the grass. We treat them every three months with a strong treatment but it's still not good to have fleas inside a house with carpet in the bedrooms. XD

Besides, we do take them out on cat harnesses so it's not like they never get outside. Dharma has been doing a lot better on a natural diet. She's not throwing up anymore which is really nice and I'm so relieved she's got her health back. Lots of expensive visits to the vets only to hear them say they don't know or can't find what's wrong was extremely worrying. All we had to do was change her diet and cut out all the processed foods. I think she must have some sort of Irritable bowel or irritable digestive thing. Which I have myself, so I can empathise.

It was kind of awful having cat spew everywhere as well. On the couch, bed, floor, you name it...

But she's able to eat again so long as we feed things like cooked bbq chicken, steamed fish, lamb, salmon, tuna and sardine. All human grade foods chopped into little pieces - with no bones. Bones are dangerous choking hazrds.

I also give her lactose free milk which she loves. (Cats are lactose intolerant). But not too much since too much calcium in a cat's body is bad for them. A little every now and then doesn't hurt though.

Of course when we let them out the first thing they love to do is go around and snip off all the bits of grass in their teeth and eat them, so sometime there's still the occasional spew puddle after they come back inside. Lol. But they're both doing well and are healthy which I'm happy about. Dharma the Siamese is curled up on my bed near my legs while I'm writing this. And I think the other one is out in the lounge on her cat tree. They were let outside today to play and wander about. Since it's hot they didn't do much. Dharma basically went and ate grass then flopped herself down under the shade of a tree and KiKi wandered around, ate some grass and wanted to come back inside.

I can only imagine how much hotter summer days are when you have fur. Dharma's in a good spot though, she's right under the breeze from the fan and looks very happy and cute. Actually she's on her side and sort of looks like a pretzel. Lol. =^w^=

Anyway, just felt like writing in my journal. I don't do it that often and I should really be working on my book instead so I'll end it here now.
