Penelope had fallen asleep after hours of sobbing into her pillow. She twitched back to life as Ecaterina knocked on the grand door once more. Penelope rolled out of her comfort and cracked the door enough to hide her puffy red face from Ecaterina and her mystery guest. "Who is it, Ecaterina...?" Penelope mumbled.
"Sir Cerberus has come to see you, Ms. Penelope." Ecaterina bowed her head and presented Cerberus.
Cerberus de Leon was Penelope's best friend, who loved her endlessly. Cerberus was tall and had well toned muscles. He wore short, deep blue hair on the top of his head. His eyes flashed like dark sapphires in the moonlight. Cerberus' lips were red like peppermint candy; sweet like it too.
Penelope opened the door wide open with excitement. Her heart fluttered at the sight of Cerberus and his dashing features. The two embraced each other, and held on as if neither of them were to let go.
Cerberus looked into Penelope's glossy red, wet eyes. He was astonished, "Penelope! What's the matter? Why does it look like your pet pirrahna died? It's your birthday... You should be happy!" He cupped her face with his hands made of ice.
Chills went down Penelope's spine from Cerberus' delicate touch. Penelope sighed. "I don't want to talk about it, really. It's far too complicated. Plus, it makes me sad just thinking about it." Tiny crystals welled up in her eyes. Cerberus quickly wiped the jewels from her and wrapped his arms around her warming, human body. They both shook to each other's temperture.
"Don't cry..." Cerberus whispered, "You're too beautiful to cry." He let go and smiled at her. "You don't have to tell me unless you're ready and want me to know." Cerberus ran his fingers through her long locks of beauty.
