as my father was about to ask her a question, the woman interrupted him with a hand. she said in a melodious voice, "i have come to answer my calling, i have come to tell you the future of your child." any other time or person, my father would have closed the door with a quick "no thank you," both my parents were at the end of their wits. so he let her in and brought me and my mother to the living room. the house was not large, but it was enough for us. as soon as we were all seated, and i was chewing on my favorite toy, the woman raised her staff and touched it to my forehead. my mother was about to object, when a soft light began emanating from the point of contact. the light coming from the staff was soon mingled with a darkness, a darkness coming from my forehead at the touch of the staff, tendrils of light and darkness, warring for supremacy in the living room of a two bedroom house. with out there being a seeming winner, the battle suddenly subsided. the woman, quiet until now, broke the silence with a sentence. "your son will be a part of something great, something larger than the worlds fate, or the fate of the universe." after that she left without a word, shaking out of his shock, my father ran to the door half a second after it closed, but the woman was already gone.
