I wasn't feeling well the other night so I took it upon myself to indulge in some less than perfect behavior. While I was relaxing, I compared relationships to Sun Glasses.

Sun glasses hurt to take off at first, due to the intensity of the world around you. A world you haven't been a part of for a while. You've been living in the world, but under the protection and safety of the sun glasses. Without the sun glasses the world is more vivid, and beautiful, and astonishing. You want to go back to wearing the sun glasses at first because they are a protection, a shield, against the harsh exterior world. But you can never understand what you have misses out on in the world until you take off the glasses. The glasses are a crutch. And when you finally take off the glasses you realize you've missed out on some really spectacular things.
