Prelude
There was once a young, misunderstood, and scared girl. On her face she wore a "mask" of happiness and set up barriers within her mind. Nobody saw through fake smile plastered on her face, then again, maybe nobody really cared enough to even try. Wandering from here to there, with no sense of belonging, regardless of where she traveled, she couldn't find her place within the world. No matter how far she ran, new-found misery and the weight of her past was always just close behind. She was of normal height, her pale skin seemed to glow in the night, and her dark, wavy hair always covered her face and her mystical green eyes. All she ever was, and will be, was a beautiful disaster. Or at least that was, until he came.
He saw what everyone else, including the young girl, couldn't see: strength, beauty, intelligence, and a light within her soul that couldn't be extinguished. He also gave her what no one else had before: kindness, trust, and above all, a sense of belonging. This man took her under his wing, and under his watchful eye he trained her. He became her master, and she his loving apprentice. Then something miraculous happened. The young girl began to grown on the man and the unlikely duo became friends. Because not only did he train her, he helped her. He dried her tears, let her scream at him when she needed to let loose, and made her laugh on occasion. And slowly but surely, her mask began to crack, and the walls came tumbling down.
With each passing day the two spent together, the stronger their bond became. Eventually the two would become inseparable. Nothing could keep the pair apart. Each day the girl grew stronger, and in-turn happier. The master could not help but to be proud of his student. Throughout every tragedy the pair ensued, they survived it: together. No matter what happened, they were always there for each other, ready to do what was necessary, no matter the cost. They battled addiction, fought enemies, overcame depressions, embarked on adventures, and found a place in the world together. Through blood, sweat, tears, and nightmares, the two finally found what they had been training and looking for since the very beginning of their time together.
This is their story.
