"Ah man...I think we're lost Bo." Juni said as she brushed some of her chocolate brown hair out of her eyes. Bo, the little welsh corgi, whined unhappily from Juni's shoulder. At Juni's waste was an overstuffed, light-brown, leather bag that was filled with letters and official documents. 'Now how am I going to get these to the Castle?' placing a hand on her bag Juni sighed just a little bit before perking up. "We'll just say we took the 'scenic route' right Bo?" Bo barked and wagged his tail as if he was agreeing with his master. Juni chuckled and scratched the little dogs chin before continuing on through the forest.
The trail was barely visible even though it was the middle of spring and there weren't very many leaves on the ground. Juni and Bo seemed to have taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way from the Post Office. Juni was a young woman who had always wanted to be a Currier for the Royal Family. It was considered to be a great honer to carry important letters such as war plans or wedding invitations. Every Currier even had their own companion. In Juni's case it was the little corgi puppy, Bo. Currently Juni was making her way towards Castle Fleur to deliver an invitation to a dance to the Prince of the Kingdom. Her only problem was that her sense of direction was horrible. Now she was afraid that she was headed in the completely wrong direction and wouldn't make it to Castle Fleur on time.
Reaching into her brown coat, Juni pulled out a map of the area and looked at it as she walked. 'Hmm...looks like we took a wrong turn all the way back there.' she thought as she found the back road they were on. Meanwhile Bo was sniffing the air, keeping a look out for anything that would try to attack his master. Something didn't smell right at the moment which was making Bo uneasy. The fur along the back of his neck was even standing up now as a low growl came up through the small dogs throat. Looking up from her map and stopping in her tracks, Juni suddenly felt what Bo was getting so worked up about.
Even though the sun was shining and the wind still held a little winter in it there was a chill in the air that even made Juni's hair stand on end. "What is it Bo?" Juni asked as she slipped her map back into her coat pocket. As a Courier who carried important documents one would think that Juni should carry a weapon. However, to avoid getting unwanted attention Juni, didn't carry anything remotely related to being a weapon. Juni wasn't even trained to use hand-to-combat.
After a moment of silence and nothing happening Juni decided to start moving further down the trail. The cold feeling was still there, but now she was thinking or rather hoping that whatever was giving off such a large amount of blood lust was just moving through and hadn't spotted her yet. Bo just kept growling so loud though that Juni eventually took him in her arms and clamped a hand over his muzzle. "Hush Bo." She hissed silently. Bo kept on growling, but at least he was quieter so Juni removed her hand.
The silence combined with the creepy-cold feeling was making Juni even more nervous than actually seeing whatever that was after her. Fortunately the browned haired Currier and her little dog didn't have to wait much longer for the thing to show itself. A cloud had passed in front of the sun making the forest look even darker than it actually was. All of a sudden a great roar came from right behind Juni. The sound of the beast alone was enough to make a grown man cry. Turning around quickly Juni found herself face to face with a large reptile like creature. It almost looked like a dragon, but it's mouth was more beak like and squished in, while it's eyes were as pale as snow. It was lacking wings, but made up for that with giant sized claws on all it's feet. The creature was about the same size as the trees.
