I personally feel that a scratch should infect someone very slowly as the virus doesn't exactly enter into the blood stream at that exact moment it would spread slowly through your system, while being bitten transmits the disease and would kill the person in a matter of hours, with symptoms appearing within the first hour. consuming the virus orally either through blood or saliva entering the mouth it won't turn you but it will cause a severe fever that is 99.5% fatal and those few that live become immune to the virus.
