YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS THEME FOR SO, SOOO LONG. I suggested Tabletop RPG as a theme back in Spring of last year, and it evolved over time with so many great ideas and eventually turned into this awesome RIG!! AHHH I'M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY DO IT!! And I'm so glad to see so many people happy with it, my month is totally made. *____* I hope you all enjoy these items! I made the ones listed here. For Nerd Swag, I just made the two tables, (because you need tables for tabletop games right?).
I also got to do two monster designs! The Rat Guard and Ice Basilisk from Kiva's adventure!
Some of the items I made this month are a little personal to me, my friends, and my tabletop RPG characters. I've been playing two steady D&D campaigns for about three years now, though I'm just in one right now. My friends and I meet once a week for a few hours when we can, either over AIM or Skype because we all live in different states. It's a different way to play, but we make it work and it's tons of fun!
Anyway, my friends and I love horrible puns and cross-classing characters to make even more horrible, nerdy puns… Like, what do you get when you cross a Paladin with a Bard? A Palalalalalalaladin of course! This is where the ideas for items like the Necrodancer, Palalaladin, and Undeadtaker came from. The horns in Talisman of Evil were inspired by my own paladin too! His name is Yin, and even though he's the picture of Lawful Good, his horns seemed like they would fit nicely into the evil set. Maybe I will get a chance to make all four of his horns in the future.
Yin is the poutiest paladin.
He worships this serpent god who's not in the books... the D&D I play is VERY VERY HOMEBREWED, but it's still super fun and imaginative, and I love doing sketches from the campaigns.
This god was also the inspiration for the Ice Basilisk, not gunna lie.
And although I didn't make any items for him, my fire mage Jasper is probably my favorite D&D character I've ever played. HE'S JUST SO FUN TO PLAY BECAUSE HE'S FULL OF FEELINGS, SEE…
…also I like to make fun of his feelings a lot. LOL.
Perhaps I will get to make something with Jasper in mind another time. I like to be careful about using my own characters as inspiration for Gaia items, but it does make things very enjoyable too. ^^
ANYWAY, ENJOY THE CI! Man, I want to make a sequel already HAHA! I can dream!
