Stone Heart

This heart is surrounded
by stone,
by a hard rock surface,
that protects
what's inside.
But this granite wall,
has weathered,
and Chipped,
To Reveal a crack
to reveal a fissure
down so deep.
Should this Stone
Shatter,
To reveal the heart...
The Heart made of Flesh,
The Heart that Bleeds when Broken
What would I to do?
The flood gates,
held back for so long,
would erupt.
Into a new river of pain,
and nothing to replace the
stone, that had been
washed away and lost,
forever....
This stone heart,
can only last for so long,
before it returns to the earth,
the Flesh, and blood
with it.....
