Dear Journal,

Today I auditioned for one of the solos in glee club. We're singing Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi. I auditioned for the sixth movement, which is called Domine Deus. I'm really nervous and I'm not sure if I'm going to get the part. There were these two other girls who auditioned for the same solo. One of them is a senior (I'm a sophomore), and the other one is in my grade but can sing way better than I can. Here's the entire movement, if you wanna hear it:

Domine Deus

Yeah, it's long, but we only had to sing up to that first "Pater omnipotens" in minor for the audition.

I hear that I did really well, though, and there were some girls sitting outside commenting on how well I could sing the high notes. Also, the glee club teacher looked really surprised when I was singing, maybe because it was...really...good? I mean, he was smiling but he wasn't laughing at me, so I guess that's a good sign. He told me I did a good job afterwards, and so did one of the teachers that was judging the auditions.

And you know that weird adrenaline rush that stays there even after you audition? Yeah, I had that. And it was great.
