Draconia St. George
October 12
Today, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood announced a school-wide assignment for all of the student bodies to write about our monster heritage. I heard a lot of moans and groans from the audience, but I couldn't be more excited! It is my dream when I grow up to be a writer, and one of my favorite subjects is my family's history. I hope I can use this assignment to clear up three very big misconceptions about dragons:

1) There is more than one type of dragon! There are Greater Dragons (like myself) and Lesser Dragons. Greater Dragons are more humanoid, very intelligent and quite long-lived. Lesser Dragons are more like the types of animals Normies raise on farms. I get tired of explaining to people that the dragon eggs served in the Creepateria are NOT my relatives.

2) History is full of inaccuracies about dragons. According to many of the history books that my uncle has, the people of the town of Silene called upon the knight Saint George to defeat a dragon that had been terrorizing their town. Most of the books talk about a great, fiery battle between the dragon and Sir George that he won. But the truth is that the people of Silene's problem with the dragon was that her hoarding had gotten out of control and was threatening to engulf the town. They called in Sir George to talk to her about her problem, as she was a bit touchy about it and the townspeople were worried about confronting her. I won't recount the whole story here, but...that dragon was my ancestor and there is a very good reason my last name is St. George. wink

3) Dragons DO NOT have bad vision!

I think I will start the assignment right now. I hope HH Bloodgood doesn't mind if my assignment runs long!
