One more week.
Then a sweet escape.
How distorted my perception must be, to see school in such a light,
but that's exactly what it is.

This is my year.
I'm going to do what I can to enjoy myself.
There's no need to fret over you.

Still though,
In the back of my mind,
I pray that you reach out to me,
But I'm sure you won't.
And I don't think I can delude you into such a thing.
Not that I'd bother.

You continue to fret over this and that and the inevitable,
Really though, if it's eating you so much,
Why don't you just drop the ******** out or transfer?
Nobody told you to leave your family.
This was all your decision.

I, personally, will embrace the storm of my departure from the nest.
I know it's easier said than done,
But I've witnessed so many accounts of it that I'm not afraid.
And they'll always be a phone call away.

And now, I know,
That I'm indeed going to USF for the right reasons.
Not for you.
For me. For education.
For a better future.
