Legendary
Parts of a book I am writing as they flow into my mind. I need a place to get it all in writing.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!"
Cole screamed. The sound echoed throughout the grey valley and roared like thunder. Sarah fell back from the window. Ryan's head followed the location of the sound. Dustin stopped his sprint and turned back to face the source. Everything was still and lifeless as the bones that filled the valley. Sarah slowly got back to her feet and approached the window, watching in amazement as Cole fell to the ground, Darren standing triumphantly above him. He raised his arm, and Cole closed his eyes, preparing for the final strike. Sarah shook here head and ran out of the plane.
"Darren! Don't kill him!"
She screamed, and his hand continued to move closer to Cole's face, but suddenly it stopped. He flattened his palm and held it out for Cole to grab.
"Cole."
Darren said. His voice was deep and serious, but it was warm and reminded Sarah of the Darren she had first met. Cole turned his head and found Darren awaiting his hand, and he gave it to him. Darren pulled Cole up to his feet, but he didnt let go. Instead, he shook Cole's hand.
"You are really powerful, but your heart is going in the wrong direction. Come on, join us, we could use your skill."
Cole was shocked, as was Sarah. They both smiled, and Cole nodded. Sarah ran over, but as she was running her expression quickly changed. As Darren began walking away, Cole pulled his arm back and thrust his fist into Darrens face, sending him falling to the ground. Cole began laughing.
"My heart? Ha! We don't have hearts Darren! You of all people should know that. If I had a heart, it would burn for Sarah, just as yours once did."
Sarah stopped immediantly.
"Is that... What this... Is about?"
Darren asked as he struggled to push himself up. Cole kicked his stomach in, throwing him onto his back. Darren screamed out in agony, but even though Ryan was on his way, he was still to far, and Dustin had to continue.
"Of course that's what this is about! You stole her from me, and you never even loved her!"
Sarah's fell forward. She felt like her entire existence had just been declared false.
"That's not true. I have... always loved her, from the bottom... of my heart!"
He shouted as he jumped to his feet and brought his fist up to Cole's face, returning the favor. Cole was pushed back, but he didn't fall over.
"I loved her before you had ever met her. I've loved her since we were just kids, and we hung out down by the creek. We used to always skip rocks together. And you tore that away from me. You have as much of a 'heart' as I do, you demented b*****d."
Cole threw his fist up at Darren, but he pushed it down. He was forcing out pressure, exerting it from his body.
"I love Sarah to this day, and it is because of her that I have fought you all this time, even though I consider you my friend."
Cole jumped back. He had a confused look.
"Friend? After everything you have done to me, you want to be my friend?"
He asked. Cole stood straight and concentrated all of his energy into a sphere of fire in his hands. Darren followed with a sphere of pressure and raw aura. They both focused it and aimed at each other, but before they could destroy each other, Sarah ran in between them, and Darren quickly stopped, but Cole released his blast, sending it straight at her. Withimpulse, Darren teleported in front of Sarah, absorbing the entire attack.
Ryan watched as Darren dropped to his knee's, as Sarah dropped with him, and Cole stepped back.
"Darren! No!"
Sarah screamed. He fell into her arms, and his body felt lifeless. She cried and held him, and Cole took another step back.
"Sarah, I-"
"No! You did this Cole, all of this! It is your fault everyone died, including Darren. You killed them, and you were blinded by anger! You never stopped to see that you had friends all around you!"
"Sarah, I never meant to-"
"Just go, Cole. Leave this place, there is nothing or you now."
Ryan lowered his head. He calmly walked over to Sarah and placed his hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him, an a tear fell. Sarah's eyes widened as she wiped the tear off of her face, but another tear fell, and they were coming from Ryan. Dustin didn't know why, but he began crying too. Sarah rested her head on Darren's chest and cried along with them. Darren wasn't moving, he didn't have a pulse, his heart didn't have a beat. But it wasn't over.
Dustin rushed through the valley, coming at the edge of the bone graveyard, and coming at a crossroads.
