A Touch of History
This will mostly contain history stuff.
* I had written to this point Tuesday afternoon, but forgot to post what with deusabscondum here.

* Republicans in Wisconsin are now trying to force the Democrats to have primaries in the hopes of delaying recall and general elections, presumably in the hopes of doing even more damage.

* In Mississippi the right wing folks are openly doing a tour in support of a law forcing women to bear the children of their rapists and to ban birth control.

* The stuff going on in Alabama and Mississippi scares the s**t out of me.

PostDymphna@BPAL said, "Apparently, a corporation can be a person, a fetus can be a person, but a woman is a mindless incubator who needs her decisions made for her."

* 66 years late, Rocky Matayoshi has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, for his astonishing personal bravery in WWII. It may be late, but at least he is still alive to receive it. It does not right the wrong of his family being Interned, but it a small step toward my country doing the right thing by acknowledging the patriotism and bravery of Japanese American soldiers in WWII.

* In Libya, the battle of Misrata continues. In Japan, they have lowered safety standards to allow small children to attend heavily irradiated schools, on the grounds we don't actually know for sure it will give them cancer. The collapse in Yemen continues, as the President has been wounded and is in Saudi Arabia for treatment. I weep for syria, but that's nothing new.

* Hours after I wrote that, I spotted Sparkindarkness' lovely piece on Kirk Murphy: http://www.sparkindarkness.com/2011/06/tragic-story-of-kirk-murphy.html

* Sparkindarkness on the whole YA literature kerfluffle: http://www.sparkindarkness.com/2011/06/on-terribad-darkness-of-ya-literature.html

* On how women are already being arrested for having abortions: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-06-03/abortions-return-to-back-alleys-amid-restrictive-new-state-laws/

* Word: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v46/squeeful/white-mans-burden.png

* RM has some fascinating things to say about Pride and the evolution of community; http://lettersfromtitan.com/2011/06/07/the-ghost-of-pride-past-and-future/

* I can't unsee this; http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/2011/06/06/behind-the-awkwardness-curly/

* I got almost none of the things needing doing done yesterday or today. I have two days to get my s**t together before the seattle trip.

* Hollowstone virtual book tour continues: http://arsmarginal.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/author-confesses-militant-anti-white-anti-straight-agenda-in-debut-novel-hollowstone/

* Also, somehow I missed the Hollowstone dreamcast: http://neo-prodigy.livejournal.com/954523.html

* I'm way behind on the Internet, but making progress. If it's important, Pm or email me.
