This is the story of his first and only love Serafina that Matty tells to Latte one night while they lay together.

My first love was in the summer after my second year with my brother's wife, Serafina Malfoy. I had just finished through puberty, shooting up and filling out as was typical of the Erol men. She came like an angel with hair like spun sugar and skin as smooth as a porcelain doll. But she was anything but doll-like. She was constantly animated, always smiling and dancing around the main house or throwing her own parties in the garden with the younger children. Everyone loved her, so I thought it was nothing until the night she ventured into my bedroom.

Of course, it being summer break, everyone else was out traveling, camping, sight seeing, and doing everything else they could before school started again. I stayed home to study since I couldn't visit the dragon reserve personally. And Serafina, precious Serafina, she was always so slight and delicate, so very fragile. I wanted to protect her. She said she was lonely, my brother was inattentive and always gone. She'd had a bad dream and woke up alone and I was the only one in the house. Opening my cocoon of blankets I let her in, scooting over to allow her room. Twice my age, I felt her body press up snug against mine, her slim arms wrapping around my torso as she curled herself around me like a contented cat, her head tucked into my back, her breath tickling the nape of my neck. Being a fresh turned teenage boy, sleeping beside such a woman began to foster dreams of my own, and I awoke to not a totally unpleasant situation in my pants. Luckily I had a shower before she awoke. We carried on like that for a week before she woke before me one morning.

She clucked and crooned at my predicament, slender, smooth, hands worked oh so softly. She was my brother's, but I spent so much time with her, someone had to give her attention. She taught me about a woman's body then; where to touch, how to give them pleasure, romantic gestures. I learned them all for her. I loved her as the stars love the sky. But all the love in the world couldn't stop her from withering. I watched her like a flower beginning to droop, doing everything I could, but unable to keep her up. Day by day she wilted. I saw the marks my brother left on her, the bruises black on her milky skin. He sought to control her.

I had half of the death curse out of my mouth when Serafina stopped me,begging pleading pulling. Wanted her more than anything, everything. Would give up dragons, magic, my life to keep her, save her. Would give her up herself if it meant she might thrive away from my arms.

And still she crumbled.

My brother tore away at her. Our love disturbed her. With me so young in body, she being wed to my brother, we could never be. And yet she loved me, and I watched it poison her until the day she took her life.

We were united, together in my room, nestled in the security of my blankets, away from all others where she could be as she wished. She pulled me towards her then, her sweet hands wrapped around my neck, her lips bent to my ear, her soft body molded beneath mine, her slender hand holding mine at bay.

"Love can only destroy Matty," she whispered, and then, "avada kadavra." Poison green light washed over me and she was gone, her body empty. I remember screaming then, a high pitched shattering wail that took several minutes to realize it was coming from me. She was gone. My first, my only, me every, my last, love. My room exploded then. I don't remember murmuring the spells, or holding a wand, but it burst into flames all the same. 

I wanted them to consume me, take me with her. I might have cried, mourned, raged, but I felt it distantly because I was so very empty inside without her. Her body cold, the flames were all that could warm me as they destroyed everything else.

Just like our love.
