New book list! xD

It's going to be hard to find them all again, as the new one is at least as long as the old list. I just wanted to take a moment to address the so highly toted book on girl cliques, "Queen Bees & Wannabes" by Rosalind Wiseman.

...This book is a joke. Okay, maybe it's something to read for those fru-fru bitches who spend all their time giggling like retards, every thought in their head and word out their lips "Blah blah such-and-such said this and did that and talked to that person and wah wah" and who want to figure out more tactics to one-up their equally-retarded friends. The entire book was basically pointing out clique dynamics...without listing any ways to combat those bitches, and what's even worse, it actually makes it sound like a Bad Thing if you're not in one. It didn't actually come right out and say that, but by labeling it as "withdrawing" and not giving any helpful advice to people who want to avoid that crazy s**t, it might as well have.

...I'm a bad person because I tried to ignore the HATING and JUDGING and went off to do my own thing, including sports and writing and daydreaming and skipping school when it all got to be too much? You mean...I should've spent my entire middle and high school existence wearing and doing and saying only what other people wanted me to, arf arf?

It's a tough call picking out the worst part of the book, though I personally vote on a fun little tidbit about a poor, sad new girl by the name of Lori Shore. Lori made the mistake of moving and going to a new school, and some huge raging c**t (which the author helpfully labels as "Queen Bees" wink took it upon herself to circulate a petition saying "Lori Shore is a Megawhore!" and having guys sign it, promising they wouldn't go out with said "Megawhore". The author's advice for Lori? To paraphrase, the best course of action would be to confront the "Queen Bee" when the Queen Bee is somehow without her lackeys and tell her that the petition hurt her feelings and that she didn't like it. :*(

Of course, the goal of the meeting wasn't about getting anything useful done, it was just to help acknowledge the Queen Bee's "power" and meeting her alone was to save "face" (not for Lori, either). This is obviously convoluted and tremendously stupid. Now, the Aloy way also involves meeting her alone, but that's because bitches don't fight fair. I'd be perfectly happy to tell Little Miss Huge Raging c**t exactly what I think of her petition...by taping it to my fist and punching her in the face. If she's still being mouthy while trying to stem a blood-flooded nose, I'll tell her how I can save her face by keeping it in a jar of formaldehyde next to my bed. Let's see how much bullshit happens then, eh?

The rest of the book can really be summed up by useless sidebars, bits of fluff from random teenage girls, irritating definitions, and that's about it. There was a very brief section about guy cliques, which can be summed up by:

- There's a leader, and everyone else is some grade of flunky/thug/goof.

- Social activities are summed up by hitting things, boobs, one-upping each other, boobs, hitting things, calling each other "fags" and "gay" if they show signs of genuine emotion, boobs, and rotating the different flunky/thug/goof mentalities between each other, and boobs.

...Come to think of it, I don't think the author ever actually mentioned boobs in that list of Stuff They Do, which is just another sign that she has no idea what she's talking about. If she does, and this book really does accurately portray those mostly worthless things known as "females"...yea, I'll be over here, belching loudly, calling random things passing by "fags", and hitting things when the urge strikes.

Tomorrow, we take on "The Land of Painted Caves" by Jean M. Auel! :D
